I don’t mind the back and forth at all 😊 I actually appreciate the respectful discussion.
I see your point, but I think Colossians 2:16 deserves a closer look because Paul explicitly says “a festival, a new moon, or a Sabbath” — so it’s difficult to say it refers only to feast days.
And with Acts 20:7, regardless of exactly how we understand the timing, Luke clearly says the believers gathered on the first day of the week to break bread.
I also agree that marriage and the Sabbath are not sinful. But Genesis 2 doesn’t actually use the word “Sabbath” or give a command to keep a Sabbath; that command is given explicitly later in Exodus 20.
So I think there’s still room for us to examine the Scriptures from both sides. 😊🙏🏽
Right but Exodus 20 points directly back to Genesis. I mean the word 'bible' doesn't appear in scripture but we believe in it. I think that's a stretch to say the word Sabbath doesn't appear in Genesis 2 so it's not relevant.
As for Acts 20:7, absolutely. Breaking break, worshipping, praising God....I don't think we should ever take a day off per se. But there is only one day God sanctified and made holy.
Correct about Colossians 2....It read 'sabbath days' which means plural. And there were lots of days called sabbaths. Feast days, holidays etc. But there is a clear distinction between what is reference in that chapter from the context, to the royal and holy law of God (the 10 commandments)
I think the bigger issue is that we like our traditions. And what the church fathers apparently taught. I'm just trying to follow what God says and what Jesus lived.
I think everything else outside of that, is opinion. Which we all have.
