SUNDAY REFLECTION: THE CHALICE, THE HOST, AND THE PEACE I FOUND TODAY.
Today is Sunday....yeah A special day.
As you can see in this picture, there is the Bible.... There is the rosary... There is the golden chalice.... And on top of the chalice, there is the Holy Communion, the host..
Many people see it as ordinary bread....I know right? But it is not.
That small round white host is everything. It is the Body of Christ. The IHS you see written on it means Jesus. It is Jesus Himself present on the altar.....✝️
The chalice that holds it is not just a cup. . It is the cup that holds the Blood of Christ.... It reminds us of the Last Supper, where Jesus gave His life for us...He died gor our sins.
And behind, you can see the open Bible. The Word of God. The Word becomes flesh in that host. What we read in the Bible, we see live on the altar.
The rosary beside it shows our mother Mary. She was there at the foot of the cross. She connects us to her Son....she interceds for us.
Why is this important today being Sunday?....... Because Sunday is the day of resurrection. The day we go to meet Jesus face to face in Communion.
When the priest raises that host, heaven comes down....... Our worries, our hustle, our sins, all meet mercy.
I received Communion today and I felt new...❤️🩹🥹🔥 Not because I am perfect, but because He is perfect.

Quick question for you....Where in the bible did Jesus teach us to celebrate His rest and resurrection on Sunday? Curious if you have a verse to show that?

You’re right — Jesus never explicitly said, “You must worship on Sunday.”
However, Scripture shows that Jesus rose on the first day of the week (Matt. 28:1; John 20:1), appeared to His disciples that day (John 20:19), and the early Christians gathered on the first day to break bread (Acts 20:7). Paul also mentions the first day in 1 Corinthians 16:2, and John refers to “the Lord’s Day” (Rev. 1:10).
So for us Catholics, Sunday is about celebrating Christ’s Resurrection and victory over death. Jesus is also Lord of the Sabbath (Mark 2:27–28).
lol let's not make this a Sabbath and Sunday debate.
Appreciate the responses, this is in no means questioning your faith. Just having a friendly bible discussion about very popular teachings of man. Not a debate, just talking things out :)
