Yearning Of The Spirit

As believers, we often experience a
deep yearning of the spirit, a longing that cannot be satisfied by worldly things. This yearning is a natural after being born again, for it is the Spirit of God that stirs within us, drawing us closer to our heavenly Father.
This yearning of the spirit, is a manifestation of our desire to be reunited with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It is a longing to be free from the corruption of this world and to experience the fullness of God's presence here on earth and after.
(Psalms 42:2 NIV)"My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God?"
This yearning of the spirit is a natural part of our spiritual journey, a reminder that we are not yet home, that there is more to our existence than this temporal life.
How do we respond to the
yearning of the spirit?
We respond by drawing closer to God, by seeking him with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength. We respond by cultivating a deeper intimacy or relationship with our Lord through prayer, worship,study of his Word,and with continuous meditation.
May our yearning of the spirit drive us to seek God with all our heart, so that we will be filled with his presence and experience the fullness of his joy here on earth and life everlasting.
