A monochrome visit at the zoo
So i finally finished adding all my raw photos to my new database ...
As i mentioned in my last post i went for the software called PhotoPrism , it's free to use or you can pay for it if you think it makes your life easier.
After playing with it for more then a week i decided to get a license.
the result is + 40.000 photos
Now the next step will be labeling them all correctly with or without the help of AI , but that is for another day .
This morning we decided to go to the local zoo again to see how things are going there.
I went there with my Sony A7II camera and the old Sigma 150-500mm lens.
i know the screen shot is in color but the rest wil be in monochrome :)
This is my entry for the #monomad challenge.
1 ) Snow owl , the young chicks seem to have grown a lot since our last visit .
2 ) Couldn't find the elephant young today looks like they moved it to another location.
3 ) The Japanese crane was to bussy with looking for food
4 ) the chestnuts were almost ready to be eaten, just a couple of weeks maybe .
5 ) The young baby baboon has lost it's black coat and was chalenging his older brother and sister.
6 ) Eurasian griffon vulture impressive bird to see so close
7 ) I've never seen them in the wild , but i guess it must be impressive to see them fly.
8 ) The pelican however i did see in the wild when i was visiting Miami back in 1991.

11 ) The Yellow-billed stork with a nice reflection on the water
12 ) The Lemurs always a pleasure to watch .
13 ) The tempertures are dropping Autumn is coming , so they stick together to stay warm , i tried to count how many lemurs are in the picture but i'm not sure.
14 ) While others try to get away from the crowd.
15 ) more signs of Autumn , mushrooms season is also starting.
16 ) It's not humpday yet , but the camel calf has grown very well since our last visit .
17 ) Finally i have seen the tiger , but it didn't want to look at the camera ...

The photographs are really amazing thanks for sharing sir. And really like the black and white version and it's really nice I am a big fan of this kind of photographs and thanks for sharing it feels really great to see it.

Awesome photos! Those vultures look so intimidating; I'll be hiding in my tree under a pile of moss so they don't spot me!
Reminds me I need to bring the camera out of the van and have a look at what images I've been hoarding on there! It's great to have somewhere to store and manage images, and I'm sure recent AI developments would make it super easy to manage and label them further. I might need to look into some software, rather than the sloth-like approach I normally take, mainly ignoring them lol
well i want to make sure that the AI i'm going to use is local and stays local , so the AI will probably be running on game pc while the PhotoPrism software makes the prompts for it , but that will take some time to setup properly.

OMG +40k are so much photos to manage... it sounds like digital Diogenes syndrome. 😁 However, I can understand where you’re coming from. In my case, I try to have a clear-out every now and then, and it pains me to delete some of them. But the thing is, once they’re published, I rarely look at them again, and space is limited. I don’t want to pay just to hoard them.
The photos you’ve shared with us are lovely. My favourites are the lemurs. I think they’re such funny-looking animals with those wide-open eyes. At the other end of the scale are the vultures, which I have actually seen flying freely. It’s a truly breathtaking experience.
and that is only from 2001 - till now , i still have old negatives i need to scan and add to it .
the published JPG files i don't keep i only keep the raw files [ digital negatives it's for my daughter and grand daughter to look at when i'm gone one day , but it's also a lot easier to find old photos again when needed .
