Monomad Challenge : Autumnal Traces

My entry for the #monomad challenge.

Usually, by this time of the year in Wisconsin, the landscape is covered in snow. Lots of snow...or at least enough to hide any traces of the previous season. Case in point are these remnants of autumn.

These leaves left a mark on the sidewalks almost three months ago. Usually, with shoveling and snow plowing, these shadows of autumn are long lost to memory (and maybe a few photos), but with no winter to speak of in January, they remain.

With no snow in the forecast, I wonder how long these will remain> The cycle of the sun is already moving into the new year, and the next autumn is only 9 months away...at least I have these to remind me that sometimes, the seasons do indeed change.
