Recently I was going through my photo archives, when I noticed some old photographs I had taken during a holiday. We visited Abbaye de Clairvaux, where we took a guided tour.
The tour was quite boring and the Abbaye was mostly in disrepair and poorly maintained, except for one room with a beautiful arched ceiling.
That photo inspired me to convert into a monochrome one and share in this blog.

After that I did a search in my archive to see if I had more arches... which of course I had....
Pont du Gard near Nîmes. It looks like a really old photo now, but it's actually 'just' five years old.

This was another photo I took in France. It was a brocante in a city center. I just loved the hallway with arches.

Churches are also great if you like arches and repetition. If I remember correctly this is the cathedral of Rheims, France.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on these images. Feel free to share your perspective in the comments.
There's beauty in both symmetry and asymmetry!
Indeed!
It's a monumental structure
I love this type of photography. The structure, the composition, bridges, ceilings, the play with symmetry. Congratulations on your work. 👏👏👏
