Failure is not your final destination: An early mom trek

Hello everyone, I am Merian Achas,37 years old and I am a mother of two.

I am residing to one of the cleanest and most beautiful municipality of Misamis OrientaI (where I can give you a tour sometime) - the Sugbongcogon.

I become a mother at an early age but I did not regret it. Why? It’s because I did not let that happening to stop me from reaching my goals instead it became my motivation to strive harder.

There were challenges not just one but many that almost made me to stop - to stop with my college, to stop believing that there are still good things to happen, to stop believing in myself, to stop and just let things to happen. That I have a child now, that I should stay at home.

After graduation, the real battle begun. It’s time to look for a job. Again it was not easy but every time I fail, felt rejected, discouraged, down it was still my child that gave me the courage to go on. I never stopped learning, I took my trainer's methodology course.

I did not stop until I was hired in the Philippine National Police as Non-uniformed Personnel (NUP) serving in Sugbongcogon Municipal Station for five years. During this stay at PNP I had my second child. The job was good but I do believe it was not God’s plan for me to work there longer.
I transferred to Department of Education as a public school teacher where molding of young minds was fulfilling and satisfying. It was then I realized that being a teacher you’re not just giving them knowledge but apart from yourself.

Currently, I have two children a 20 year old college student and a 6 year old grade 1 student

Enjoying the company of my family which was built by love, commitment, dedication and hardship

Never give up on your dreams because it is just their waiting to be discovered.
