Last week, me and my family had a small bonding together. A bonding that we only experience once a week because I am busy with my work and my hometown was far away from place where I work.
We only see each other once a week, that is Sunday. Yeah, Sunday is the only day that we saw each other and I kind of expect that because of my nature of work.
So, last Sunday, we decided to have a small bonding which was going outside for a work together. We had a walk and we walked around our hometown and we saw this food stall that was at the center of our hometown.
We went to this food stall because they sell different kinds of food here. There were balut, pork rinds, and this food pastel. In balut, there were two kinds one is the pinoy (this kind of egg is similar to hard boiled egg with no chicks or ducks inside) while the other egg is called balut which was aged 16 to 18 days.
As we went to dine in, because we decided to dine in together as we do not have any work to do. There were others that also bought to this place, most were take outs but there were some that also dined in from this place.
When we were at the table, we only ordered this Pinoy kind of Balut. Yeah, we don't like to have ducks or chick inside the egg and that's why we only order this.
This was the food that we want to buy and nothing else but as we saw other customers like the students and regular customers, they ordered this pastel. We were curious to find out this pastel because it's not every day that we saw this kind of food.
I asked the vendor on how much was their pastel but surprisingly, it was only 10 pesos and here I thought that the price was 15 or even 20 pesos each.
I didn't hesitate to order one of each, me and my wife, because we want to eat dinner rather than snack. We only went there to have a snack in the store but it turned out that it was our dinner with them because there's this cheap pastel that they sell from the store.
In a pastel, there were sauce that you can put into it. A sauce that's a spicy one, you can chose if you don't like spicy in your pastel or put some if you want. I chose the spicy one and put it in my pastel to make it more delicious for its spiciness.
We enjoyed eating the pastel as dined in from the store, there were other customers that also dined in just beside us which is on our table and they ordered the same and that was the pastel.
After eating, we were full and satisfied from the store. We finished our day on eating together for our little bonding and we were happy to discover another food store that we might go again and again.

What a special moment with the family!
I had always plan on having the best day during the weekends since it's the only day that we see each other because I am working a little far away from my home. !wine
Nice bonding with your family. Glad that you have time to spend with them. I like balut rather then the pinoy hehe. I even eat he duck inside as long as it's not hairy. 😄
We didn't like much on the balut because my wife also didn't like it and we like the pinoy just like what we ate at that time. !wine

Your simple walk with family turned into a delicious little adventure. I remember tasting that pastel a long time ago when we visited GenSan and your story instantly brought back that memory.
Good to have time with family even just a short span of time.Spending to the kids really mean so much to them.Enjoy your weekend
