A Meal with a Side of Longing

One of the things that I want to do after work is going to one of the fast food chain and eat my dinner since I usually go and find to buy food for myself for dinner and then go home because I have work at night.

This was Saturday and on that day, I don't have any work from home during that day because I prefer to have a rest day during that time of the day so that I can relax and do something for myself, too.

After my work, I walk to go to the fast food chain and there are only two options that I can go with. One is Jollibee and the other one is Mang Inasal. How I wish there are options so that I can go and try to that other fast food chain.

While thinking on which fast food is really good, I chose the Mang Inasal because they have unlimited rice and I like to eat more rice during my dinner. I consider on going to the Jollibee for my dinner but I usually go there whenever I am hungry but I rarely go to Mang Inasal because they only a few options on their menu.

I thought that there are many customers during this time because it's almost night and when I went outside only a few customers that are eating. Oh well, I am here to enjoy myself and to eat by myself.

I ordered a PM2, that is a roasted chicken with unlimited rice and no drinks, I chose the no drinks because their drinks are expensive. I only chose the cheapest one that I can buy because I don't like to spend more.

After I finished ordering, I went to one of the tables in the store and I chose the table that is also near the rice and the crews that will see me whenever I needed extra rice.

I got my order after a few minutes and when I look at it, it's really delicious and I like this kind of food. I ate my first bite and then so on and so forth.

But in the middle of eating, I realize that eating by myself is lonely and it's not enjoyable as my family is in my hometown and while I am eating, realizing something like that aches my heart a bit.

I thought that I could enjoy by myself while eating in this fast food restaurant and while I eat, I lost my appetite. There are many thoughts that run into my mind that I cannot explain. Maybe one of the reason is I am by myself and not together with my family but whenever I am with my family, I feel at ease and enjoys my food very well.
