Pushing and Pulling To the Floods

It's been 12 days since we evacuated here in my in-laws house. For me it's the darkest days of my life. I'd rather endure our flooded house rather than stay dry here. My reasons had already happened, our clothes were soaked in floods. Our door was wrecked, our glass windows was fallen on the flood. Our things can possibly steal because there are no more privacy barriers. The next day I will post the images. I'm afraid that my smartphone will soaked again in flood if I'll bring it with me.

But for now let me tell you about my son's experience when he went to the city together with his cousin.

My cousin called me and told me that they needed a boat because her grandma will go to the city to buy food. I was stupid to believe them. Because I let my son wake up so early in the morning just to fetch them. Then all of sudden their grandma didn't come to the city. They just made it a reason!

The worst was he didn't say that he would come to them. But he brought his smartphone with him. He messaged me often, but I'm still worried because the flood was too high and I don't trust their cousin's motorcycle. And I was right, on our second barrio they are already pushing the motorcycle because its not working anymore. Everytime the motorcycle engine stops they need to push it until it can start again.

He sends me pictures all the time but it's still not enough for me. He went away at 5:30 in the morning and it's already past lunch and they still haven't returned. Around 14:30 in the afternoon we heard my niece's motorcycle, they passed through and I wondered why. Then my son messaged me that they went directly to the barangay hall to get the relief goods..

This is the reason why they took a long in the city. They brought the motorcycle in the motorcycle shop. They raised it so they could somehow get through the high flood. Because I often message my son on what time they'll go home he keeps sending me pictures. He even said that; just tell me mom I'll leave my cousin alone and walked home!" He really means it because he has no money in his pocket. But I was worried and his cousin didn't allow him to go home alone.

Here's is what it looks like before and here's how high it is now. Not much but atleast it can somehow endure the flood.

I can truly feel the weight of everything you going through. being away from home, seeing your things destroy, and feeling helpless as a mom it's more than should bear. I hope better days comes soon for you and your family. Sending prayers and strength your way. 🙏
