A Silent Holiday And A New Start

It's been awhile my dear friends, I know you are all doing good. I really want to thank you all the endless support especially to sir @justinparke, to his family and to this wonderful [email protected] family. The season holidays surely heal our wounds from all the trials we had. I also had a good news for all of you. But before that here's a quick recap of my December.

Yesterday was not a very good day for me because my stomach hurt badly due to acidity. I felt weak and uncomfortable the whole day, and it made me realize how stress and tiredness can really affect our body. It reminds me to slow down and take care of myself too.

Six days before Christmas my brother-in-law showed up and he said he will start buying materials for our second floor! Finally our dream will come true, this is also the reason why we are all busy. There were days when it was noisy, messy, and tiring. Writing was not my priority at that time because we needed to focus on fixing our home. It took a lot of energy, and at the end of the day, I just wanted to rest.

During Christmas and New Year, I did not take any pictures. Our food is simple, and sometimes we forget to document anything. What matters to us is that we are together, even if there are no pictures to remember it. My husband is not a fan of family photos. Last Christmas, we made graham, marinated some barbecue, and cooked papaitan. It was not fancy, but it was enough for all of us. My husband deliciously cooked it, we shared the food, talked, and rested after a long years of waiting for our dream to escape from the flood.

On New Years Eve, my in-laws shared a lot of food with us. We did not cook much because my husband wanted our second floor to have a new roof! We welcomed the new year quietly. No loud countdown, no fireworks captured on camera. Just some food on the table and simple conversations. Sometimes, that kind of celebration is already enough.

Now that things are slowly settling, I decided to come back and write again. Even without photos from Christmas and New Year. Some memories are kept quietly in the heart. I am grateful that despite everything, we welcomed the new year together, safe, fed, and hopeful.

This is my simple return to Hive, with honest words and real life behind them.
