Simple and Delicious Home-Cooked Meals β˜ΊοΈπŸ˜‹β€οΈ

(edited)

Hello everyone!

Hope all are safe and well! πŸ˜Šβ€πŸ™

Today, let me share the simple food we had at home yesterday.

Every day, we think about what to cook for our next meal. It sounds like a simple task, but deciding what to prepare for breakfast, lunch, and dinner can sometimes be challenging. We need to consider the ingredients we have, what our family wants to eat, and how we can prepare something delicious without spending too much.

Thankfully, we can still enjoy simple home-cooked food like these.

We have our eggplant salad. This is one of the simple dishes I enjoy because it does not require many ingredients. I just grilled the eggplant until it was cooked, peeled off the skin, and mixed the soft flesh with chopped tomatoes and onions. Then, I added calamansi juice to give it a fresh and slightly sour taste.

We also had fried fish. Fish is always part of our meals, and we enjoy preparing it in different ways. Frying is one of the easiest ways to cook fish because it gives the outside a golden, crispy texture while keeping the inside tender when cooked properly.

While some fried fish, I decided to make it a little different. Instead of serving it as ordinary fried fish, I added catsup to give it a sweeter and slightly tangy taste. It was my simple version of sweet and sour fish.

Another food we had was cooked banana. For me, this served as a replacement for rice during my meals.

My father and mother ate rice, while I chose to eat cooked bananas instead. We can share the same dishes even when we have different preferences for our main source of carbohydrates.

I enjoy cooked bananas because they are simple to prepare and go well with our viands.

Here is the food I prepared for my own meal. As you can see, I had eggplant salad, fish, and cooked banana instead of rice.

I was happy with this simple combination because I had vegetables, fish, and a filling alternative to rice on my plate. ☺️

Preparing meals is part of our everyday routine. Every day, we think about what to cook and what to serve so that everyone in the family will have something to eat. It is like a daily assignment that never really ends because after one meal, we eventually have to think about the next one.

I am grateful that we can still prepare our meals and enjoy the food on our table. Not every day do we have something special, but we do not need to. What matters is that we have food to eat, a home where we can share our meals, and family members to share these simple moments with. ☺️❀️

Have a Blessed Friday everyone! πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–
