Rainy Night, Good Food, and an Unplanned Get-Together with Friends ☺️❤️

Hope all are safe and well! ☺️❤️🙏

The other night was one of those simple yet meaningful moments that reminded me how beautiful life can be when shared with the right people. A friend invited us for his late birthday celebration at the boulevard. Even though the rain kept pouring that night, the plan still pushed through. Why? Because the celebrant was going back to Manila the following day, and we didn’t want to miss the chance to be together, even just for a few hours. ☺️❤️

Some of our friends went ahead to the boulevard using a tricycle, picking up those who were available that night. I, on the other hand, was fetched at home by a friend with a car after he picked up some others. Our transportation that night was a mix of tricycle and car. If only the weather was good, we would’ve probably gone by motorcycle, enjoying the night breeze. But rain or shine, what mattered most was being there. ❤️

We arrived at the boulevard around 9:00 PM, and despite the wet pavement and cloudy skies, the place still felt warm that's filled with laughter, stories, and familiar faces. We had barbecues, beers, and endless conversations. The kind of conversations that make you forget the time. And guess what? I was suddenly put on the hot seat. 🤣🤭

Some of the boys started teasing me, asking who my boyfriend is now after my heartbreak in Cebu. Honestly, I just laughed it off. I didn’t share anything because I knew they were just teasing me and besides, they already knew my story. Sometimes silence is my way of protecting my peace. ☺️

We stayed at the boulevard until a little past 11:00 PM, enjoying the moment as much as we could. After that, one friend suddenly suggested that we go to his house because he had squid at home and wanted to cook something for us. Without hesitation, we agreed because who can say no to food after drinks? 🤭

When we arrived at his place, everyone instantly became busy. The house owner prepared the ingredients, the other boy friend cooked while the girls are princesses. 🤭

Soon, the kitchen was filled with the comforting aroma of squid soup, fried squid, and freshly cooked rice. When everything was ready, we gathered around the table and started eating. The squid soup was so good and it felt like it cured the hangover instantly. Simple food, cooked with effort, shared with friends is that kind of meal always hits differently. ❤️

While eating, the teasing continued, the laughter got louder, and the stories never seemed to end. We even managed to take group photos right there at the table capturing memories we’ll probably laugh about again in the future. ☺️❤️

After a few more minutes, we finally decided to head home since it was already almost 2:00 AM. Our friend with the car kindly dropped us off one by one along the way to her home. I went home feeling tired but happy and my heart is full. ☺️❤️

This gathering wasn’t planned ahead. It was spontaneous, imperfect, rainy, and simple but it was beautiful. Moments like these remind me that happiness doesn’t always come from big celebrations. Sometimes, it comes from unplanned nights, shared meals, and people who choose to show up. ☺️❤️
