Hello everyone!
Hope all are safe and well! ☺️❤️🙏
Yesterday, I was standing in front of the pantry, thinking hard about what viand to cook. You know those moments when you’re not sure what to prepare, but you want something new? That was me. Then, I spotted a can of sardines. Usually, I would just cook it as it is or make sardines soup with noodles, with veggies or sponge gourd, which I did before. But this time, I wanted to try something different. Something I’ve never done with sardines before. ☺️
I opened the fridge and saw flour, egg, and some breading mix. That’s when the idea sparked! Why not turn sardines into something finger lickin, bite-sized, and fun to eat? That’s how I ended up making Finger-Lickin’ Sardines Fish Balls. ☺️
Honestly, I wasn’t planning to blog about it at first because I wasn’t sure how it would turn out. But while frying, I remembered to take some pictures and decided it was worth sharing. And you know what? It turned out surprisingly good! ☺️
So, let me share with you how I made my Finger-Lickin’ Sardines Fish Balls. ☺️❤️😋
✓ 1 can sardines
✓ 1 cup flour
✓ 1 medium egg
✓ 2 tbsp breading mix
✓ Ground pepper (a little)
✓ Salt to taste
✓ A little Sinigang mix (tamarind soup base)
✓ Cooking oil (for frying)
✓ water (¼ sardines can)
This recipe is very simple, budget-friendly, and can be enjoyed either as a snack or as a viand with rice. What makes it better is the dipping sauce. I used sweet chili sauce and chili garlic sauce. My sister loved it with sweet chili, while I personally preferred the kick of chili garlic. ❤️😘
And that’s it! My first attempt at making Finger Lickin' Sardines Fish Balls, and it was a success! I love how this simple canned sardines turned into something delicious. My sister even asked me to make it again. ☺️
Truly, this dish shows that with a bit of creativity, even simple sardines can turn into something delicious. Though to be honest, the final product didn’t really look like balls. 🤭🤭
Note: I only took pictures when the mixture was already ready. The sardines I used were the spicy one, but the can I pictured was the regular variant since that’s the only one left. (I already threw away the spicy sardines can).
Have a Blessed Monday everyone! 😀😀😀💖💖💖
Thank You Lord for the blessings and love!
Be grateful in every little/simple things and you’ll find happiness you ever wanted! 😀😀😀
Everyday is worth to be grateful of!
Praying for the safety and wellness of all.
