Hello everyone!
Hope all are safe and well! πβ€π
Today, let me share with you another unexpected recipe experiment that surprisingly turned out successful and delicious. Sometimes, simple ideas born from practicality can create something wonderful inside the kitchen. π
Having a small store is truly helpful for daily living, but one of its disadvantages is dealing with products that are expired or about to expire. As I checked our stocks, I noticed that some Energen Vanilla packs had already expired a few days ago. We accidentally overlooked the expiry dates, and instead of selling them, I immediately pulled them out.
Honestly, I didnβt want to throw them away because they only expired recently and still looked okay. I thought to myself, Maybe I can still turn this into something useful. π
And thatβs when the idea suddenly came into my mind. π
Since Energen already contains flavor and some ingredients needed for baking like the oats, I became curious if I could transform it into some kind of bread or cake. I didnβt really follow any recipe from the internet. I simply experimented using the ingredients available at home. ππ
Thankfully, the result was surprisingly good! πβ€
Thatβs why I named my finished product Energen Vanilla Bread ala Cake. π

I honestly felt happy seeing the final result because instead of wasting the products, I was able to turn them into snacks for the family. It reminded me that creativity can really help, especially during difficult times when we need to maximize whatever resources we have. ππ
So hereβs my simple and budget-friendly recipe,
βͺοΈ 8 packs - Energen Vanilla (around 2 1/2 cups)
βͺοΈ 2 medium - Eggs
βͺοΈ 1 cup - Water
βͺοΈ 2 tbsp margarine
βͺοΈ 1 tbsp - Baking powder
βͺοΈ A bit of Salt
βͺοΈIn a food processor or blender, combine all ingredients: energen vanilla, eggs, water, margarine, baking powder and salt.

βͺοΈ Blend everything well until the mixture became smooth and fully combined.

βͺοΈ Transfer the mixture into a cake pan and cover it with foil.

βͺοΈCook it for a hour. Since we donβt have an oven at home and LPG gas is already expensive nowadays, I decided to cook it using firewood instead. I turned our cooking pot into a simple improvised oven. π Honestly, I enjoy cooking with firewood sometimes because it reminds me of simple provincial living. It takes patience, but thereβs also something relaxing and fulfilling about it. π

βͺοΈ After cooking it for about an hour, let it cool down for a while before transferring it onto a plate.

βͺοΈSlice it into desired portions.

βͺοΈ Serve while warm. Enjoy!
Hereβs the final result : my homemade Energen Vanilla Bread ala Cake! π

It actually tasted good, soft, and filling. We enjoyed eating it while still warm. I felt proud because from something that could have been wasted, it became a delicious snack for the family. ππ
Sometimes, life teaches us to become resourceful and creative. We may not always have complete ingredients or perfect kitchen tools, but with patience and willingness to try, we can still create something meaningful. πβ€
This experience also reminded me not to waste food whenever possible. There are many ways to make use of what we already have at home. ππ
Have a Blessed Saturday everyone! ππππππ
