Hello everyone!
Hope all are safe and well! ☺️❤️🙏
It’s Friday again, and while some parts of the Philippines are experiencing a typhoon, I’m thankful that here, the rain has stopped for now and everything continues as usual. So come with me as I share my simple market trip and our low-budget finds. ☺️
This afternoon, I decided to go to the market with only ₱300 budget. My goal was to bring home something good for dinner and hopefully stock up for the next day as well.
The first thing that caught my eyes was the fresh fish. For only ₱50, I got 5 pieces of the tail part.
Immediately, I already had a menu in mind which is the fish soup! To go with it, I bought pechay worth ₱20.
I also grabbed calamansi for ₱20 since we only had a few left at home. This would add that tangy flavor to the soup.
Then, I bought eggplant worth ₱40 for stock and viand for the next day.
On my way out, I couldn’t resist the mangoes, they looked so sweet! For ₱65, I got 3 pieces.
Lastly, I bought 6 eggs worth ₱50 since we only had 2 left at home.
With 6 items for ₱245 or $4.21 as of today's exchange rate, I was happy that my budget stretched well. I hurried home since it was still windy and it might rain again.
At home, I washed the mangoes, calamansi, eggplants, and eggs before putting them in the fridge.
Then, I started cooking fish soup. I boiled water with onion, ginger, and tomato.
Then, I prepared the calamansi juice for the fish soup.
When it boils, added the fish and salt.
While waiting for the fish to cook, I washed the pechay carefully, first one by one, then all together.
When the fish was cooked, I added the pechay, simmered for 3 minutes, and poured in calamansi juice.
Dinner was ready! A hot bowl of fish soup paired with rice, perfect for the cool weather. 😋 We even had enough left for tomorrow’s viand. ☺️
That's our dish for dinner it's good especially with the cold weather. We still have remaining fish soup for tomorrow's viand. ☺️
Later in the evening, around 3 hours after dinner, I treated myself with a chilled mango. It was so sweet and refreshing! ☺️😋 My sister, on the other hand, enjoyed hers right during dinner.
I’m truly grateful that I was able to budget the money I had and still prepare something healthy and delicious. 🙏❤️
Every little thing counts, and this simple day reminded me that happiness can always be found in gratitude. ❤️☺️🙏
Have a Blessed Friday everyone! 😀😀😀💖💖💖
Thank You Lord for the blessings and love!
Be grateful in every little/simple things and you’ll find happiness you ever wanted! 😀😀😀
Everyday is worth to be grateful of!
Praying for the safety and wellness of all.
