It’s My Birthday! A Simple Yet Meaningful Celebration 🎂🎈🎉

Today is the day I’ve been waiting for, it’s my birthday! 🥳 Feel free to drop by and send your greetings or birthday wishes. 🤭☺️

It’s the sixth day and last day of my birthday countdown. Finally, my special day has arrived. No grand celebrations, no fancy meals, just a quiet, simple day that I still treasure deeply. ☺️❤️

As I woke up this morning, I honestly waited to see who would greet me first. At first, no one did. It felt a bit sad. But then I checked my phone and to my surprise and happiness, I received birthday messages from my family and friends who remembered. That alone made my day! ☺️❤️

Yes, I’m now 39 years old. And yes, still single. 🤭 I’ve heard the same questions many times, When will you get married? You're not getting any younger! Honestly, I’m used to it. People always seem concerned about age, especially if you’re single. But I’ve learned to brush it off. I’m okay being single, and if God gives me the chance to have a family someday, I’ll welcome it. But for now, I choose to be grateful for where I am. 😊

I just turned 39 today. And speaking of 39, I’ve heard that in some Chinese beliefs, ages ending in 9 like 29, 39, 49 and so on are sometimes viewed as a kind of turning point or transition year. It’s not that the number itself is unlucky, but there’s a belief that these ages can bring personal challenges or emotional shifts, as you're nearing a new decade of life. So instead of saying I’m 39, some people would rather say I’m turning 40 to symbolically move forward and avoid attracting any negative energy.

Although I’m not deeply into superstitions, I find it interesting how different cultures look at numbers and their meanings. For me, I embrace 39 fully with gratitude for everything I’ve been through and hope for what’s ahead. 🙏

Anyway, back to my birthday! ☺️

This morning, I received a video call from my family. That’s when I felt truly loved. It’s true that family will always be the first to remember and show up for you, even if just through a screen. My parents, siblings, nieces, and nephew all greeted me. Their warm wishes made me feel close to home, even if I’m far away. ❤️

Of course, my friends also remembered, and the sweetest was a voice message from my goddaughter. Yes, the same little girl I talked about in my 5th day countdown post. She sang me a birthday song, and it truly melted my heart. Her sweet voice and innocence are the best gifts I could ever receive. ☺️❤️

After replying to all the messages, I took a bath, went to church, lit candles, and offered prayers. 🙏

Then, I bought a mini black forest cake at Red Ribbon. ☺️

And bought some viand, the fried chicken and lumpiang shanghai at Gio's Food Hub. ☺️

When I got back to my place, I prepared a mini birthday celebration. And bought sofdrinks. ☺️❤️

I'm so glad I wasn’t completely alone. Soneone is with me and joined me for my birthday meal. It was a very simple celebration with simple foods such as a mini cake, fried chicken, lumpiang shanghai, rice, and Sprite. But it felt special. I had someone to share it with, and that’s what really matters. ☺️❤️

After our meal, I had another video call with my family. This time, my nephew sang a birthday song again. I smiled so much! Even if I’m far from them, it feels like they’re still right here with me. The internet really is a blessing for moments like these. ☺️❤️

I’m also deeply grateful to someone from afar who sent me a cash gift. Because of that, I was able to buy food for my birthday. Since I’m currently jobless, that blessing really meant a lot to me. 🙏❤️

So yes, even without a big party or a fancy celebration, my birthday this year is still beautiful. It was filled with love, surprises, and the warmth of the the people who remembered me. I may be 39, single, and facing many uncertainties but I am also blessed, surrounded by love, and still smiling. At the end of the day, that’s what birthdays are really about. ☺️❤️🙏
