Crunchy, Sweet and Delicious Turon 😋😊❤🙏

Hello everyone!

Hope all are safe and well! 😊❤🙏

Today was one of those quiet days where the rain seemed to fall endlessly from morning until the afternoon. The sky was gray, the air was cool, and everything around felt calm and peaceful. When it rains like this, it always makes me want something warm and sweet to eat. So I decided to prepare a simple snack for us, the turon.

Turon is a very popular Filipino snack made from ripe bananas wrapped in lumpia wrapper and fried until golden brown. What makes it even more delicious is the caramelized sugar coating that gives it that sweet, crunchy texture on the outside. It is one of those simple street foods that many Filipinos grew up loving.

The reason I decided to make turon today was because we had some ripe Costa bananas at home. Usually, turon is made with saba or cardaba bananas because they are firmer and sweeter when cooked. But since we only had costa bananas available, I thought, Why not try?😁 Sometimes cooking is also about being creative with whatever ingredients you have at home. 😊

Good thing I also still had some lumpia wrappers left in the refrigerator. That made everything easier.😊

I started by peeling the bananas and slicing each one into four strips. After that, I wrapped each banana strip carefully with the lumpia wrapper. It’s a simple process, but it always reminds me of preparing lumpia for sale or during family gatherings. Wrapping them one by one takes patience, but it’s also relaxing in a way.😊

Once everything was wrapped, I heated oil in the pan and began frying the turon. Slowly, the wrappers turned into that beautiful golden brown color. The sizzling sound while frying is always satisfying to hear. 😊

After frying all of them, I melted sugar in the pan to make the caramel coating. When the sugar turned into a rich golden syrup, I added the fried turon and gently mixed them until each piece was coated with the melted sugar. That shiny caramelized layer is what makes turon extra special. 😊❤

Even though I used costa bananas instead of the usual saba or cardaba, the result still turned out good. The turon was sweet, crunchy, and delicious. The bananas inside were soft and naturally sweet, while the wrapper and caramel coating added that satisfying crunch. 😋

That became our afternoon snack while the rain continued pouring outside. Simple snacks like this always make rainy days feel warmer and cozier. Sometimes, the best comfort food is the one made at home with simple ingredients and shared with family.😊❤

I’m thankful that even on a rainy day, we have something warm and sweet to enjoy together. Life may not always be perfect, but there are always small moments that make the day special. 😊❤

Have a Blessed Monday everyone! 😀😀😀💖💖💖

Thank You Lord for the blessings and love!

Be grateful in every little/simple things and you’ll find happiness you ever wanted! 😀😀😀

Everyday is worth to be grateful of!

Praying for the safety and wellness of all.

Heal Our Land Oh God!
