Hello everyone!
Hope all are safe and well! ☺️❤️🙏
Living near the sea has always reminded me how generous nature can be. The sea is truly abundant with food. It gives, provides, and sustains life in ways that sometimes we don’t fully realize until we experience it every single day. I am deeply grateful because every time my father and brother go out to the sea, they always come home carrying blessings that are fresh, simple, and enough for our needs. ❤️🙏
Fishing has long been a part of our life here. It is not just a source of food, but also a way for my family to earn and survive. When my father and brother return from the sea, our hearts are already full with excitement, wondering what they were able to catch. Most of the time, we don’t get disappointed. The sea never fails to provide. ❤️🙏
This time, they brought home plenty of catfish. Some were sold, which helped my father earn money, and some were kept for our family’s meals. Knowing that my father can provide both food on the table and a little income from fishing makes my heart happy and thankful. It’s not always easy to rely on the sea, but with hard work and patience, it gives back generously. ❤️🙏

My father personally cooked the catfish with coconut milk and moringga leaves. Just watching him prepare it already made me hungry. When it was finally served, the dish looked so creamy and inviting. The smell alone was enough to make everyone gather around the table. ❤️😋
The catfish cooked in coconut milk and moringga leaves was rich, flavorful, and very satisfying. It’s the kind of viand that makes you eat more rice without even noticing. Simple ingredients, cooked with care, really turn into something special. Meals like this remind me that happiness doesn’t always come from expensive food, but from dishes prepared with love and shared with family. ❤️

Aside from the catfish, my brother and his wife were also able to get some oysters. They didn’t sell them, they were meant only for family consumption. That alone already felt like a blessing. ❤️🙏

My brother simply cooked the oysters by boiling them until they were ready to eat. No fancy preparation, just fresh oysters straight from the sea. Our viands are often like this, it's simple, fresh, and mostly coming from the ocean. As you may know, the sea is just at the back of our house. Living this close to it makes fishing the main source of livelihood here. ❤️

One thing that really amazed me was when my brother brought home lukot. It's the noodle-like egg sac of the sea hare. I honestly didn’t expect to see lukot here. I thought the first time I saw and tasted it was in Cebu. But my mother told me that when we were younger, we already ate lukot whenever it was available. I didn’t even remember it. 🤭
Now that I tasted it again, I realized how delicious it is. I truly enjoyed it. It’s funny how food can bring back memories we didn’t even know we had. It made me appreciate even more the simple life we have here. ❤️🙏

Living in the province and having access to free food from the sea is such a blessing. It teaches me gratitude, humility, and contentment. The sea provides, my family works hard, and together we are sustained. ❤️🙏
Have a Blessed Monday everyone! 😀😀😀💖💖💖
