Hello everyone!
Hope all are safe and well! ☺️❤️🙏
Today, I just want to share something that makes my heart so happy and thankful, our blessings from the sea. I am so grateful because at home, my parents have fresh food without even needing to buy. ❤️🙏
Living near the sea has always been one of the greatest blessings in our family. It feels so comforting to know that whenever my parents go fishing, they often come home with an abundance of fresh catch that is enough to fill our table and even share with others. Recently, their catch has been even more plentiful, and I can’t help but feel grateful.
We don’t have a boat anymore, but that doesn’t stop my parents from fishing. They only use fish nets, and the sea is literally just at the back of our house. They don’t need to go far. It's just near the seashore, with the water reaching only up to their waist.
Here’s how they do it: My father holds one end of the net while my mother takes the other end, and they slowly walk in opposite directions, forming a wide circle in the water. Step by step, they close in, making the circle smaller until both ends of the net meet again. When they pull the net out, it’s full of fish and sometimes squids that are fresh from the sea and still glistening. It may sound simple, but it takes patience and teamwork and my parents have mastered it through the years. ☺️❤️
Each time they arrive home, they are smiling, happy, and content knowing that today’s meal is already taken care of. There’s no need to buy fish for our viand because the sea has already provided. These catches aren’t just food, it's a blessings.🙏
Just like today, when they arrived home, I could see their smiles that quiet joy of knowing they have plenty of fresh food to cook. The squids were glistening, and the fish came in different kinds, all so fresh from the sea. Some were for today’s meals, while others were set aside for the next days. Truly, it’s a blessing to have this abundance without spending a single peso. ❤️
The other days, my parents brought home a beautiful variety like silver-scaled bangus, colorful reef fish, and fresh squids. Today’s catch was just as abundant.
My nephew was especially excited, rushing to get some of the fish for himself. ☺️☺️
The photos I’m sharing here are from our family group chat. I wanted to post them because they remind me of how simple joys, like fresh catch from the sea, can be such a big blessing.
Life by the sea may not always be easy, but moments like these remind me of how rich we are in the ways that truly matter. Fresh food, a happy family, and the blessings of nature, these are gifts money can’t buy. ❤️
Thank You, Lord, for providing for us. Indeed, everyday has its own blessings and today, ours came from the sea. ❤️☺️🙏
Have a Blessed Thursday everyone! 😀😀😀💖💖💖
