Hello everyone!
Hope all are safe and well! ☺️❤️🙏
The other day, I found myself walking into our town’s municipal office with a mix of curiosity, hope, and a little bit of nervous excitement. I went there to inquire about the upcoming town fiesta, which will be celebrated in the month of May. I know it is still a bit far, but for me, it already feels close because I am hoping to get a barbecue (BBQ) stall during the fiesta season.
From what I know, the BBQ stalls usually start operating as early as April and continue for more than a month. That’s already a long time for selling, and honestly, it could really help me earn. Since I am currently not working, I am trying to explore small business opportunities that I can manage and handle on my own. Selling BBQ during fiesta season feels like a good fit for me. It's simple, hands-on, and something I’m willing to work hard for. 💪
By the way, for those who are not familiar, our town is Barugo. It is a simple and humble town where agriculture plays a big role in people’s daily lives. Rice fields, coconut copra, tuba wine, and fishing are some of the main sources of livelihood here. Life in Barugo is quiet and simple, but I can really see progress now because of the efforts of our present mayor. Little by little, there are projects that truly help the people. ❤️

When I arrived at the municipal hall, I asked where I could inquire about fiesta preparations. I was guided upstairs to the mayor’s office. The staff were polite and accommodating, but I was told that there are no updates yet regarding the fiesta, especially about the stalls. I was advised to just keep visiting and asking from time to time. They couldn’t really answer my questions yet, which I understand because preparations might still be ongoing.

After that short conversation, I went back down and decided to take some photos around the municipal grounds. Sometimes, just walking around and observing makes you appreciate your town even more. ❤️

One of the things that really caught my attention was the bus parked there. This is actually one of the initiatives of our mayor. It's a free ride project for students from Barugo who are studying in Tacloban. Tacloban is about an hour and a half away, and the fare usually costs around 100 pesos. This project is a big help to students and their families. There are scheduled trips, and many students really benefit from it. ❤️

There is also a playground area near the municipal hall where families and children in Barugo can spend time and relax. ❤️

I also took a photo of the area where the BBQ stalls are usually placed during fiesta. This place will surely be busy once the celebration starts, especially since there will be invited artists and many visitors coming to town.

Right now, I am really praying that I will be given a BBQ stall slot. I want to try this business and see how far I can go. Even though I don’t have a slot yet, my mind is already very busy. I keep thinking about preparations like looking for suppliers, planning how to prepare the BBQ, deciding how many staff I might need, briefing them, listing down materials and equipment to buy, and many more. Sometimes, I even laugh at myself because I’m already planning as if I have a big capital. 🤭
Still, I believe that if it’s meant for me, God will open the way. One step at a time. For now, I’ll keep praying, hoping, and preparing my heart for whatever comes next. 🙏💪
Have a Blessed Wednesday everyone! 😀😀😀💖💖💖
