Hello everyone!
Hope all are safe and well! πβ€π
Iβve been quite busy these past few days, and Iβm excited to share soon what has been keeping me on my toes. There are so many small happenings behind the scenes, and I canβt wait to tell you about them one by one. But for today, let me share something simple, something close to my heart and tummy. βΊοΈ
Itβs about the pork soup I cooked for our lunch. Nothing fancy. Just a simple dish that I was craving for days. π

That morning, I suddenly missed the comforting taste of sinigang. The kind that warms you from the inside, especially when shared with family. We didnβt have pork at home, so I asked my mother if we could request father to buy even just 1/4 kilo from town. Since we are only four adults and one kid at home, that amount was already enough for us. π
When father arrived, he handed me the pork with his usual calm smile. I immediately washed it properly and sliced it into smaller pieces. Thereβs something therapeutic about preparing ingredients like washing, cutting, organizing everything before cooking. It makes me feel grounded and present. π
Good thing we still had chayote and sweet corn that I bought the other day. I also got a pack of sinigang mix from our small store. Simple ingredients, but when combined together, they create something so comforting. ππ

As the pork started to boil, the aroma slowly filled our kitchen. The sound of the simmering soup felt like music to my ears. I added the sweet corn first to make it tender and slightly sweet, then the chayote. Lastly, I mixed in the sinigang seasoning.
I didnβt make it too sour because my parents donβt like it overly sour. I adjusted the taste carefully just enough tanginess to make it flavorful but still balanced. Cooking for family is always about considering their preferences. Itβs not just about what I want, but what will make everyone enjoy the meal. πβ€
When it was finally ready, we gathered around the table. It may not look extravagant, but to me, it was perfect. β€

The soup was warm, comforting, and satisfying. The pork was tender, the vegetables cooked just right, and the broth had that gentle sourness that made you want another spoonful. More than satisfying my cravings, it filled my heart seeing my parents and family enjoy what I prepared. πβ€
Life can get busy. Responsibilities can feel heavy. But moments like this remind me to slow down and appreciate what we already have. πβ€π
Thank You, Lord, for the simple blessings, for food on the table, for family, for cravings satisfied, and for another ordinary day that turned special because of gratitude. β€ππ
Have a Blessed Friday everyone! ππππππ
