Happy Birthday Over a Rice Meal!

In this journey of life, we always have first-time experiences. 12 years ago this month our first child was born and I became a mother for the first time. I did not know what to expect when this part of my life started. As they say, we always get the hang of it as we move on. Who would have thought that 12 years have already passed and very soon my husband and I will be parents of teenagers? Whew! That was quick!

And so we had a little celebration for our eldest daughter's 12th birthday. We drove to a not-so-far restaurant and had a simple dinner. We don't usually spend much on celebrations. Aside from the fact that we don't have much budget for it, we like it to be a simple one.

We dined at Dimsum Break, a Chinese dish-inspired fast food chain. We don't usually dine here but we went there any way for a change. Our children would usually like Jollibee since there is one near our home.

We ordered rice meals. Enough to fill our hungry stomachs. Before we dug in, we took a few snaps.

Happy Birthday to this young lady!

Another thing, upon paying our order, the cashier told us we had a free Sinulog T-shirt! It was timely that Cebu is celebrating Sinulog Festival. We gladly took the freebie.

After we finished our food, we had a little stroll in the nearby shops and then we headed back home.

We are beyond grateful for the added year and good health to our daughter and all members of our family. After all, health is wealth.
