I Bought a Tracing Learning Paper for My 2-Year-Old Son

Hello @Asean Hive Community. It's me again, leyzel. Today, I want to share something small but meaningful as a mom. I recently bought a tracing learning paper for my 2 year old son, and I feel really happy and excited about it.

As a first time mom, I always look for little ways to help my son learn even at home. He’s only two years old, but I can see that he’s already curious about so many things. He likes to hold pens and crayons and scribble on paper, walls, and sometimes even on our furniture and his legs! At first, I just let him doodle freely, but I realized maybe I can guide him little by little. That’s why I decided to buy him a tracing paper activity.

The tracing paper I bought has lines, shapes, and letters that kids can follow using a pencil or crayon. It’s made for toddlers, so it’s simple and colorful. I thought it would be a fun and easy way for him to start practicing how to hold a pen properly and begin to recognize writing shapes, numbers and letters even if he’s still very young.

When I gave it to him, his eyes lit up with excitement. He grabbed the free color pens and started drawing on it right away. Of course, he didn’t follow the lines perfectly, he’s just two! But I didn’t expect perfection. I just wanted him to enjoy and explore, and that’s exactly what he did.

It made me so happy just watching him focus, laugh, and enjoy what he was doing. He would sometimes look at me and say things like “circle!” or “Letters” and "One" he can already identify it. I just smiled and gently guided him. I want learning to feel like play, not something that pressures him.

I also noticed that it’s a good bonding time for us. Even if it only lasts for a few minutes, those moments feel special. We sit on the floor together, and I point to the shapes while tracing them in. Sometimes we sing the ABC song while tracing. It’s messy, and sometimes the crayons end up on his face, legs and to our bedsheets, but it’s all worth it.

I know he’s still young, and he has many years ahead of him to learn properly. But I believe that these small steps matter. What’s important for me right now is that he’s having fun and slowly building his interest in learning.

Buying that tracing learning paper may seem like a small thing, but for me, it’s part of the big journey of being a mom. I’m learning with him. I'm also learning how to be patient, how to encourage, and how to turn little things into learning moments.

Thank you for reading my simple story. Until next time!

I remember my daughter when I teach her how to write. Its not only the tracing pad or paper has marks. More of it she will put on her legs. Patience is really needed and good job kiddo and soon you will go to school. 😍
