Mother Prepared A Very Big Chicken And Caramelized Sticky Rice As A Farewell Gift To Me Before Going Back To My Husband's Workplace

Hello hivers! I'm about to leave my hometown so my mother killed a very big chicken for me as a farewell gift. I love chicken in any kind of recipe that's why my mom prepared me for this. It's actually a hen but it's still young. It didn't lay eggs several months because it's too fat that's why she decided to kill it.

My mother killed it and I'm the one removing its feathers and unnecessary parts found in the beak, wings and feet. It took me an hour to finish it because I'm not used to doing this kind of thing. If only my brother is here he is the one doing for this but it's me and my mother as this moment so I have no choice hahaha.

This is the whole meat. It's too big. I think this is almost three to four kilos. I hand it to my mother because she will be the one removing the internal organs and cut this into pieces for a certain recipe.

We are very surprise to see so many fats inside the chicken. Maybe this is the reason why it will not lay eggs anymore. This could produce a lot of oil. So we decided not to make a soup for this but an adobo style to use the fat. My mother is busy cooking the chicken and on the other side I also do cleaning the sticky rice because we will make Biko.

Biko only needs sticky rice and two kinds of sugar locally we called kamay the brown dry sugar And kinugay which is the red moisted sugar. And also the coconut milk caramelized then adding the steamed sticky rice then steam again then it's done. It's easy to demonstrate but it took almost 2-3 hours to finish cooking.

This is the Biko look like. My son enjoyed it so much because it has almost similar taste to chocolate as well as the colors.

I enjoyed the day though it's like a sad day because I'll be heading to my second home but there's so many memories I had here. I love to be here because my parents are so very supportive to me in any terms. I have also my brothers here and they are very diligent in any kinds of pleases from me. Maybe the next time I came here is next year but I'm hoping to be home again before 2025 ends depends on my husband's job order. It's almost a month vacation but for me that was too short. I failed again for my daughter's operation, I get disappointed but I know there will be a perfect timing. I'm happy that there is hive that I can blog, write my stories and anyone can comment. I'm not sad anymore because I've heard so many encouragement and advices from other hivers.
That's all everyone. Thank you so much for all the comments, upvotes and reblogs. I appreciate it and it made me so happy and dedicated to share every single story of my life.
See you in my next blog!

I used to. My mom teaches me. When I was a kid I always watch my mom do this. We have so many chickens that's why I can witness how it is killed and cleaned
