Happy Sunday Hivers!
Spring onions are one of the easiest vegetables to grow. Unlike many other plants that require extra care and attention, spring onions are very low-maintenance. As long as they are planted in fertile soil and watered regularly, they will grow healthy and thrive with very little effort. That's one of the reasons I enjoy growing them in our garden.

During the last week of May, my mother and I bought a bundle of spring onions from the local public market for ₱100. We decided to plant every single one in our garden.
We planted a large number of spring onions because our goal is not only to grow them for our family's consumption but also to sell them. My mother already has regular buyers from the time she grew spring onions during the pandemic, so we thought it would be a great idea to start planting them again.

After two months of planting, our spring onions have grown thick, healthy, and lush. We regularly harvest fresh spring onions from our garden to add to the vegetables we cook and to many of our everyday meals.
Now that they have become so dense, my mother said it's time to divide and replant them so we can grow even more. One of the best things about spring onions is how quickly they multiply. With proper care, they continue to produce new shoots, making them an excellent crop for both home consumption and extra income.

I told my mother that we should start selling some of our spring onions, but she said it isn't the right time yet. She wants them to multiply and grow even more first so we'll have a larger harvest to sell.
She also explained that we shouldn't harvest everything at once. Instead, we need to harvest them on a schedule so there will always be spring onions left to continue growing. This way, we can enjoy a steady supply for our family's meals while also having a continuous harvest to sell in the future.

My mother is absolutely right, and that's why I always follow her advice when it comes to gardening. She has far more experience than I do, so I trust her knowledge and learn as much as I can from her.
For now, we are still dividing and replanting some of our spring onions to help them multiply even more. It's amazing to think that we only spent ₱100 to buy our first batch of spring onions. Now, just look at them, they've grown into a healthy and abundant crop. We even harvest fresh spring onions almost every day to add flavor to the meals we cook. It's truly rewarding to see how such a small investment has turned into a continuous source of fresh food for our family, and hopefully, it will soon become an extra source of income as well.

Wow that's a brilliant move...
In this little way we can surely save from buying in the market..
Not only does it help save money, but we also get to enjoy fresh, healthy, and chemical-free food straight from our garden.
