Happy Monday Hivers!
If a person is hardworking and has their own land, they will surely never go hungry. That’s something I often hear from the elders, and it’s true. If you have your own land, you can grow crops and vegetables not just for your own consumption, but also to sell and earn income.

My sister was able to purchase a 220-square-meter piece of land very close to our home. Actually, the land was sold by one of our relatives, and there was an agreement passed down from their grandparents that it should be sold at a lower price to family members. We’re truly lucky that they honored what their grandparents had said.
Since the land is now available for us to use, my mother didn’t waste any time. She decided to turn it into a garden and will plant vegetables and crops.
We couldn’t manage to clean the area on our own, so we hired someone to take care of it for us.

After four days of cleaning, it was almost completely finished. Actually, we already have some seedlings ready for planting, but we still need more because my mother wants all the vegetables, crops, and spices we consume at home to come from our own garden instead of buying them from the market.
Prices of basic goods have become very expensive nowadays, especially because of the ongoing conflicts, so it’s really timely that we were able to purchase this land. In just a few months, we’ll be able to harvest, since some vegetables grow quickly.

So this is now our Phase 1 preparation for the garden. My older sister even asked me, “Are you okay with planting?” She doesn’t realize that these days, I no longer enjoy working in a corporate environment, I actually find more joy in gardening.
Maybe as we grow older, we begin to appreciate and enjoy the simple things in life even more.

In the end, this garden is more than just a source of food, it’s becoming a place of purpose, peace, and fulfillment for our family. From preparing the land to planting our own crops, every step feels meaningful and rewarding. It may take time and effort, but knowing that we’ll soon harvest what we’ve worked hard for makes it all worth it. Sometimes, the simplest choices like growing your own food, bring the greatest kind of happiness.

Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!

Namaste! I am fond of reading books, watching korean, american and filipino series/movies and I am also fond of gardening. I love listening to different life stories and I am always captivated with the beauty of nature so travel is my escape when life turns into blue. But hey, how could I forget my photography hobby? It is one of the best, so follow me as I will be featuring my experiences of the stuff that I am
Planting and farming. I envy those who could do that. I hate sweltering heat and sweating, plus plants died in my hands, so obviously that is not my life's calling 😅.
