Happy Sunday Hivers!
Out of the 20 seedlings we planted, only 10 survived, and of those 10, only 3 eventually bore fruit. We weren't surprised by the outcome, though, since the weather has been extremely hot, making it difficult for the plants to thrive.

In the Philippines, long chili peppers are very popular and are often added to inun-unan na isda (Fish simmered in vinegar and spices) because they give the dish a spicy kick and enhance its flavor.
Another popular use for long chili peppers is making Dynamite, a well-loved Filipino snack. To prepare it, the chili is sliced open and the seeds are removed. It is then stuffed with corned tuna and cheese, wrapped in a lumpia wrapper, and deep-fried until golden and crispy. The result is a delicious and flavorful snack known as Dynamite

These are some of the main reasons why many Filipinos choose to grow long chili peppers.
What I like most about this plant is that it is not difficult to grow. It does not require a lot of special care or attention. As long as it is watered regularly and planted in healthy, fertile soil, it can grow well and produce a good harvest.

After almost two months of waiting, our long chili pepper plants have finally started bearing fruit. Although not all of the plants have produced peppers yet, Iβm still happy to see that at least three of them have already begun to bear fruit.
Iβve seen posts from other gardeners whose chili pepper plants are loaded with peppers, and itβs truly inspiring. Iβm hoping that our plants will continue to grow healthy and eventually produce an abundant harvest as well.
Gardening is a lesson in patience, and every small success feels rewarding. Seeing these first fruits is a great reminder that with time, care, and perseverance, our efforts can pay off.
