Even Small Progress Is Still Progress

Happy Friday Hivers!

Have you ever noticed that sometimes the pace of progress feels like a turtle’s crawl, and it makes you lose patience? I’m not sure if you can relate, but on my part, there are times when I really run out of patience, especially when progress seems painfully slow.

This is what I felt when I saw my mom’s orchids. I don’t know, maybe I was just really excited to see them fully bloom.

One morning, I noticed the orchids in our backyard. They hadn’t bloomed yet; all their petals were still tightly closed. Every morning after that, I kept checking, wondering when they would finally bloom. It took several days of waiting before I could finally see their petals slowly opening.

After a few days, I felt so happy because I finally saw that three petals had bloomed. They were so beautiful and looked incredibly fresh. But there were still three petals that hadn’t opened yet.

I was excited to see them all fully bloom, but the remaining three didn’t follow right away. They didn’t bloom at the same time as the others.

After a few more days, I noticed that only two petals were left unopened. The orchid was becoming more and more beautiful each day. It was slowly transforming right before my eyes.

It truly added beauty to the surroundings. Seeing it bloom little by little made everything feel brighter and more alive.

One afternoon, my mom transferred her orchids to new pots and added charcoal and coconut husk. The next day, all the orchids had finally fully bloomed.

I remember waking up that morning and going straight to the backyard, and that was what greeted me early in the morning. The orchids were so beautiful.

It felt like a reward after all the waiting. Seeing them fully bloom reminded me that with the right care, the right environment, and a little patience, beautiful things eventually unfold in their perfect time.

And that made me realize, growth doesn’t always happen all at once. Some things bloom earlier, while others take a little more time.

Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog. Cheers!
