A Simple Dance Presentation Prepared with Love for Our Eldest Sister

Happy Sunday Hivers!

Our eldest sister has been living in Canada for a very long time. She got married and built her career there. Unfortunately, her husband passed away a few years ago, so she is now living there with only our nephew and niece.

Because she has been working abroad for so many years, we rarely get to see each other. She seldom comes home, not only because the travel expenses are very expensive, but also because long-distance travel has become tiring for her. The journey is very far, and she is getting older as well.

Since her husband passed away, it feels as though a piece of her life has been missing. Although she still tries to be happy, we can clearly see the sadness in her eyes. She was deeply cherished by her husband, and she loved him very much.

That is why, after his passing, we made it a tradition to do something special for her every birthday, to bring a smile to her face and give her even just a little happiness on her special day.

Most of what we used to give her were greeting videos filled with our sweet messages. Other times, we would write heartfelt notes on stationery, secretly coordinating with our niece who lives with her to surprise her.

This year, we wanted to do something different. We all agreed to prepare a dance presentation to entertain her and make her happy.

Dancing really runs in our family, especially among us siblings. We inherited this talent from our father. However, since our father easily gets tired when dancing now, he chose not to join us.

We agreed to dance to the popular TikTok trend, Predador de Perereca. Since that night was the only time we were all together after a month, we practiced the dance during that short time as well.

Of course, before taking the final video, we made sure to rehearse first so everything would look organized and presentable.

We all had so much fun while practicing. We couldn’t stop laughing because we realized that now that we’re getting older, our bodies feel heavier and dancing isn’t as easy as it used to be.

Still, we enjoyed it because it also felt like a good exercise. We ended up sweating a lot!

After we finished editing the video, we immediately sent it to our sister since it was already her birthday that day. Because the Philippines is a few hours ahead, our dance presentation still arrived right on time.

That moment was truly memorable. We had so much fun being together, eating as one family, chatting, laughing, exercising together, and most of all, giving simple happiness to our sister, whom we love very deeply.
