🛻 Rock Delivery 🏗️ House Footers Begin 👷 & Double Mechanical Trouble 🔧

It isn't easy getting construction supplies delivered in the middle of Phnom Samkos Wildlife Sanctuary, but with enough persistence we sometimes succeed.

🚧 A Soon-To-Be-House 👷

bbb.png

Trenches have been dug for the footers and foundation of our soon-to-be new home, and it's exciting to see the progress and imagine sleeping under a non-leaky roof that has no risk of flying off the house in a strong wind. The cabin is a pretty solid structure, and that's what we're living in now, but the little brick home we were staying in has a terrible roof and many other problems.

ggggg.png

Lately we have been receiving orders from different parts of the country according to the cheapest price versus transport costs. The bricks were delivered a few weeks ago, and now we have rebar, floor tiles, and cement now on site. There were a bunch of odds and ends delivered on this truck, even a toilet and sink for our cabin bathroom renovation project.

🛺 Diesel Misfortunes x2 🚚

bbbnnn.png

The wife and I made our typical 90km roundtrip to the nearest town in the tuk-tuk and smelt diesel on the way home. After arriving home I discovered a small leak in a fuel line I have already replaced once before. Seems it subject to more vibration and heat than the other hoses, so I guess I can just plan on replacing this part once a year from now on out.

cccccc.png

We have already ordered a replacement fuel line from the Piaggio dealer in the capital, and it will probably arrive within a few days, so the tuk-tuk is grounded until then. In addition to our misfortune the driver of the gravel delivery truck broke a coolant hose on his truck, but he was able to source parts in a nearby village because it was a very common rubber hose. Mechanical problems are no joke around here with no sizable towns for hours in all directions, and almost no homes or businesses in between the two outpost towns roughly 120km apart.

house that will soon be, definitely tell you to wait for the next story or episode.Talking about building a house, it definitely requires a lot of money,If we are not good at saving or our income is not sufficient then it will take a long time for us to build the house we dream of.but I'm always with you, because in a short time you can save a lot and can build a house that quickly.because at least 80% of the time I know that your income is only in the #hive section I think that's a fantastic income.and I noticed again that the ditch that had been dug was quite wide and deep. This definitely requires a lot of materials to put into the rubber or constellations that have been excavated.and I noticed again that the bricks that had been arranged looked very different from the bricks in my place.and I noticed that there were holes in the bricks where they were.at my place the red brick is as usual. And I'm sure the bricks you use are also expensive.I will continue to monitor what you do about making this house, what the end result will be like. For now, I'm still curious about the shape because there are no pictures that you show...That's all from me, I hope you are always healthy.

Thank you for stopping by brother. Yes, we are looking forward to see this project finished, and it looks like we will have to use a sizeable chunk of our HIVE savings, but that is okay with me. It will be a two-story house, 12x6m, with a large extending roof so we can enjoy outdoor activity even during the rainy season.

Here there are many kinds of bricks, but the most common are the two kinds you noticed in my photos. The bricks with 4 holes are most common and cheapest, usually covered with plaster when used for walls and also used for foundation/footer support. The slim bricks with no holes cost the same price, but are about 1/3 of the size. We will use them to make exposed brick walls because I love the style very much. These bricks are also better with heat, so they could be used to make a pizza oven as well.

That's so exciting that you have a new house being built! 😊

Seeing the pics of that truck remind me of a meme I found many, many years ago, but it's still hilarious! 😁

We are so excited to have a non-leaky roof most of all. In addition to that I may never get the above meme out of my head 😁
