Our next-door neighbor baby Nutsara is growing up fast, and today Monkey-B introduced her to the magic of partially frozen fruit shakes.
Little Nutsara was having a blast enjoying Monkey-B's frozen fruit shake, and she kept me a making a little gasp after every spoonful, and you know something's delicious when you forget to breathe because the flavors are so distracting. Her little bites last long, her big brother reached in and took 3 massive spoonfuls, emptying the glass and killing the party, but he's not known for having a toolbox full of good manners.
Monkey-B is now tall enough to work over an adult-sized table, and with this new height has come the ability to help much more with food prep, and also see what's going from a bird's eye view. We have the exact same tastes, the two of us are partial to Indian food, and luckily for her that is pretty much all that I cook. On this day it was leftover rajma chawal with some American style garlic bread.
Ideally we'd have an oven to cook from the top down, but it works good enough to baste the bread and turn it upside down on the iron griddle. The two members of this family that don't care for Indian food much like it a lot more when garlic bread is involved with bean dishes, and it even caused the teenager below to smile for the camera, click, click, click!!
You know as a Dad you've scored when your teenage daughter willingly lets you snap a photo, that is the power of garlic bread my friends. I'm not a fan of many foods from my country, but I take great pride in garlic bread, even though it's safe to say the USA probably wasn't the group of humans to make toasted garlic bread.
Right after this pic she broke character and smiled, but I guess you'll have to trust me on that one. I found this little one hiding behind the Cub with her cardboard box of mystery creations. It's kind of like a toolbox that she uses to make new toys and projects, and she likes privacy when working on some extreme DIY projects.
Our small house mansion is so big that when on opposite sides, the human head appears to be much smaller. I caught this fellow Hiver replying to comments on her laptop from afar, and my garlic bread station perfectly aligned with her laptop station, and I think that might technically be astrology, but don't look into it.
Let's the hope the reason I was made into a handheld puppet by my youngest daughter is because I am an awesome dad and not because it was an amateur attempt at voodoo. As always, my most notable features are the mound on top of my head and my distracting beard, so I consider this a perfect likeness of me, and Monkey-B is obviously impressed with her work.
Monkey-B and voodoo...
I played Monkey Island yesterday, for the first time in ages ( see yesterday's post ) and there were voodoo dolls involved. Coincidence? I don't think so...
I actually saw your post about that game, never heard of it, but reminds me of some similar games from my childhood. I think MYST was a pc game I was into at that time. There are no coincidences, Monkey Voodoo is real 😉🐵🧙♂️.
The baby is really enjoying the drink. You can pass all your cooking skills to your daughter and she will become a good cook.
I hope so, Srey-Yuu seems to have the joy for cooking and Monkey-B the joy for eating 😉.
they really enjoy some great poses, which you share today.
Thank you, Nutsara is an easy subject because she has a disregard for the camera.
That puppet of you is freaky-awesome! She did a great job on it! 😂
I just hope I don't see her poking holes in it with a pin or anything or while burning candles and speaking Creole 😉.
Love this kind of post! Always curious to see how people live! :D
We live a pretty simple I think, but there is always something interesting going on, and luckily we have some neighbor friends that are the most sane people in the village. I decided the other day I will only speak English to little Nutsara, and maybe we'll interact enough that she can learn it a bit like a native speaker.
You're next door in Thailand right? My daughters' school is only a few kilometers from the Thai border near Trat, and soon our border will go from a trail in the forest to an international border crossing, and it will change our lives, having access to doctors, dentists, supermarkets, etc.
very amazing.. hopefully healthy always brother
Give thanks my friend 🙏🙏🙏.
Monkey-B is sure creative! What a wonderful time with your family
I am honored that she chose me to puppet-ify 😁.
Look in my daughter's eyes .
I will next time I see Chantrea, but I hope I don't scare her.
Yes dear no problem.
Yay! 🤗
