"It's too cold here and very muddy when it rains. I can't last for days staying here, I wanna go back to the city," my cousin who grew up in the city commented when they had a Christmas vacation in my province.
She's right. It's very cold in the morning. It's too muddy when it rains. The stores and supermarkets are far from the houses. I need to travel for at aleast an hour by bus if I want to go to the shopping mall. Based on them, it's dull to live in the province.
That's what I thought too when I was young. I always wanted to finish my studies and move to the city. I wanted to experience the events that my cousins shared to me. I wanted for more and became more curious in life.
But growing up, I forgot about that desire until I left home and decided to apply for a new job. I got accepted but since it was pandemic, I decided to live in the office like the others. I finally had a hold to the freedom I longed for. However, every time I took a day off and returned to my home, it felt so peaceful. The air is fresh, the sounds of the roosters didn't irritate me anymore. The moo of the cow and chips of birds sounded like a welcoming cheer!
After a year of working in that place, I braced myself and decided to work from home. Then, realized that countryside is for me. I can listen to the sound of the rain without overthinking that it might flood.
I also love how these coconut trees watch me every time I go out of the house and take a fresh breath of air. I love how fresh the vegetables are and how easy for me to get mangoes from the tree.
I love the idea that I just need to buy cucumber seed and my father can plant it in our yard. After a few weeks, we'll have unlimited cucumber which is a good snack while working.
There's the unlimited kalamansi that I can make into juice or mix with soy sauce that's a perfect match with fried eggplants. Take note the papayas, too! I love them when they are ripe and can be cooked as varied vegetable dishes.
These banana trees that patiently wait to bear a fruit reminds me that good things take time.
It's still muddy. It's still cold. But it's definitely not boring because we got internet connection now. Kidding though!
I love this place. I appreciate it more when I go outside after the long rain at night. Everything's green and it looks fresh. It's a good reminder that things are beautiful based on someone's perspective.
So, is it boring to live in the countryside?

I love the fresh and healthy food
Fresh veggies is one of the perks when we live in the countryside.
Not for everyone but I would choose it if life changes for good. Never boring, so much to do that you cannot even know if its end. Life of the farm.
That's right, there's a lot of things to do.

That is the advantage of the countryside, living close to vegetables, fruit’s, and all the rest things that makes it okay. I like the country side as well. It is cold and freshy than the city with hotness 😁🤣
Those mangoes looks great. Good morning.
