Grace in the Journey: A Computer Science Student’s Struggles, Faith, and Hope

Life of being a Computer Science student is not that as easy as the other courses especially here in our university. There are a lot of rumors that this course is the most difficult course here in BISU Candijay Campus which has been proven and tested. It is not just about computer, but it also involves logic and mathematics especially your skills for designing an interface of a system, critical thinking, hard work, dedication, commitment and love for this very testing patient course.

Today I want to share an experience here and interested I am to hear what might be your thought about this.

We have this one subject entitled “Object-Oriented Programming which was all about creating a system a desktop application which will be useful to solve a specific issue. Our system is all about Hotel Management System. During the start of second semester having laptop wasn’t really a need like mandatory or it might be necessary and important tool for our project creation. Last January I started to asked and plea God to provide laptop for me for it is a need now in our project and I even wished laptop during my 21st birthday celebration unfortunately it didn’t happened and did you know that it takes one month and 4 days before God gave it to me, yeah I can still remember it, it was the end of February 24, 2025 when the very first day it was Monday that I have it in my hand and that was the beginning of my journey in writing at last I was able to go back and I’m so thankful to God that during that time when I go back writing I received a generous support from each one of you guys here in Hive and I truly appreciate it because that welcome back of mine sustain my February payment for my Realme Pad X tablet it’s one thousand one hundred (P1,100) and it was truly a blessing.

Now go back to my situation, I’m so happy that finally I can contribute to my group in creating our project but unfortunately I was a failure, I did nothing, there are some errors and maybe I was too lazy to fully dedicate my time on exploring things on the internet since this is the reality in our modern world, beyond those failures I’m still thankful to God that I have this one classmate who is a real Genuis and who loves mathematics and logic too.

We have this system update and with our first check up with the updates with our dearest instructor, I’m beyond blessed that God gave me Rea our dearest group member who has really heart for this course, as per her she loves logic and mathematics and I’ve seen into her skills too, she’s pretty genius unlike me, I was just in the middle whatever achievement I have and skills it’s all by the grace of God alone, I don’t want to boast anything because I was just a normal person but I do believe I have this capabilities that is unique and different from other people.

One more thing, I have this blessing kind of groupmates I was so happy for their cooperation as well as sharing their ideas and helping Rea. Though I help n the other side still they added and they even added a design.

In my case, I would love to hear from you guys a motivation especially for those who had the experience of programming, coding and designing not just a design but a creating a system. I might not know everyone but it would mean so much to me if you comment down on my post.

This is the reason why. In my case I love spending time with computers since I was in junior high school, I have chosen computer in my heart until my Senior high school and now that I’m in college I decided to pursue what I really love and that is Computer Science, now the problem is I’m less dedicated maybe and motivated trying to explore the world of technology even though I have already mentioned what I love. There are a lot of things running in my mind that most of the time it will result on nothing, I don’t know or maybe I was just adjusting my first journey here in college, well one thing that might be a factor of my growth and exploring this course is family problem, financial problem, accessibility problem and many more. Being an eldest or breadwinner wasn’t really that good, I have this kind of mindset where I’m more concerned of my family’s future rather than my own father but still I have to respect Him and sometimes I even wished hopefully I was like Rea’s family, her father was really a responsible one who will really do anything for his daughters and son unlike my father the opposite one huhu maybe this one is the reason too, but I would gladly accept your advices and motivations everyone, appreciate it so much from the bottom of my heart
