Eid Mubarak to everyone. Since morning, I have been busy and couldn’t pop up here. Early in the morning, I woke up and went to the mosque and returned after the salat of Eid al-Adha. It is the first time I am celebrating Eid in town because, since my childhood, I have always celebrated it in my village with my cousins. Due to some difficulties, we need to celebrate Eid in town.

Celebrating it in the village with cousins is filled with fun activities, and in town, I just feel Eid seems lifeless. I have no one here to have a conversation with. I really miss the Eid I celebrated in the village with my cousins. I wish there were no water issues and electricity issues in my village home. Instead of having both issues, we could go there, but it would be quite troublesome for my mother and sister. Especially judging by my mother's health condition, we chose to celebrate EID in town.
Sometimes we can’t do everything even if we want to because of the situation. I didn’t expect to celebrate Eid in town because I never thought of celebrating EID without my cousins. I am sure I would be busy having conversations with my cousins, and I might have no chance to take my smartphone in hand in such a case. But now I have the whole time and don’t have anything to do, and I became active here. In the afternoon, we would be busy walking and enjoying time with nature. The scenario is quite different here. None of my friends are celebrating EID in town, and I have no plan to go outside in the afternoon. But I don’t know if I will go outside for fresh air at nighttime. I can’t guarantee it, as it depends on my mood, and here I have technological devices to keep me busy.
I installed the Clash of Clans game on my PC. 8-9 years ago, it was a trending game, and I didn’t play it too much as it was time-consuming, but still, I try to play it for relaxation when I am free. Today I am thinking of playing the game for a while. I guess I am not so bad at playing it. To be honest, I am feeling bored celebrating EID here. I can get the vibes of EID when I celebrate it in the village, or more specifically with my cousins. I just hope it’s the first and last EID in town, as I don’t want to experience another EID like today. Whatever, I hope everyone is enjoying the EID.

Eid Mubarak, intishar. That kind of Eid hits differently — the prayer is there, the day is there, but the feeling is missing when the people who made it alive aren’t around.
What you wrote is honest in a way a lot of people will feel. Sometimes growing up is just accepting that love and logistics don’t always live in the same place. Choosing town because of your mother’s health and the water/electricity issues was the right call, even if it made the day feel flatter.
The image fits the mood well too — warm lantern light, family silhouettes, celebration on the surface, and a little distance underneath. It has that “Eid should feel full” energy, which makes the emptiness in your words land even harder.
This line is the real heart of the post: sometimes we can’t do everything even if we want to because of the situation. That’s not just about Eid; that’s adulthood in one sentence.
A related Eid reflection on InLeo came from @haideremti about the pre-Eid atmosphere and how the usual festive energy can feel different year to year. For the broader meaning of Eid al-Adha as a family-centered celebration tied to sacrifice and devotion, the standard explanation is covered by Britannica and Wikipedia.
The Clash of Clans part is oddly perfect, by the way. When real life feels quiet, people reach for old games, old habits, old comforts. That’s not laziness — that’s the brain trying to build a little familiarity on a day that feels emotionally out of place.
