Hey there, friends! I really had a hard time to post consistently, but I'm so grateful tonight that I'm energetic. Time here in the Philippines is 10:23 in the evening. Usually, I drift off to bed around this time, but not tonight. I'm so happy to update about my life and I earn too honestly. How are you today?
About me, I accompanied my niece at the private hospital of Manuel J. Santos Hospital. It's an oldest private hospital here in Butuan. Even if it's private, they provide a free anti-rabbies vaccine. However, it's not easy to avail just because it's free. We need to do some paperworks in our government health insurance like Philhealth and social welfare like DSWD.
A pet puppy was biting my niece while they played. The puppy didn't have an anti-rabbies injection yet because it was as young as two months. Because of the threat that social media is spreading, my sister-in-law panicked. We immediately went to the hospital and asked if it's true that they have a free vaccine. Yes, it's true, but we need to fill in the queues and finish the paperworks before 4pm or else, the injection is postponed. It's an emergency though, but when we expect a free service from the government here, there are struggles that we need to be consider and our enemy is the time.
While waiting for the process, my niece was very hungry. She needed to eat before be injected because after the injection, there are her favorite foods that she couldn't eat. Eggs, salted fish, chicken, beans, noodles, chocolates and shrimp can trigger the allergic reaction of the vaccine in the system. Yet, my niece saw a lot of sweet foods at the hospital canteen that are good for snacks. She needed a sweet treat to calm her down and she liked it.
When it was time to have an injection, my niece was scared a lot. To calm her more, I was patting her back and hugged tightly. She wanted to see me by her side when the nurse injects her shoulders. The first procedure is an anti-tetanous treatment. The nurse promised to give her 100 pesos if she stops crying. They're friendly, hospitable and beautiful.
Here you go...this is after her injection. She was calmed when she closed her eyes while I pat here bsck. She didn't wanna see the long
needle.Even me, I was really scared of the long and big needle. However, my niece is so brave that is why she received 100 pesos from a nurse. The nurses said that my niece should be vaccinated 4x, that means, we needed to come back on that day they scheduled. It we couldn't do it, the vaccine in the body is no longer effective.
Anyway, that's up for now. Today was a busy day. Goodnight!
It's very troublesome and frightening to be bitten by a dog nowadays. With all the cases of rabies. Glad she already took her 1st injection.
Be strong little girl. Please complete your vacccine ok. Everything will be ok. God Bless you π₯°

You are a good caregiver to care for your child and carry her to get vaccination . Wish you and your child get healthy π
Be strong little girl, My sister also went to the doctor to have vaccines of anti rabbis because of the bitten of her cat last night.
Ohh baby girl. She must be very scared with the shot. Dont worry little girl everything will be okay.
Glad your niece is fine and you got the free anti-rabies vax for her. I saw some news about those who got bitten by dogs and did not get vaxxed. Rabies when spread throughout the body can really lead to something fatal. It's a must to get vaxxed when bitten.
Aww, thank you for sharing this. Iβm so glad your niece is okay! π₯Ίβ€οΈ Reading stories like this honestly makes me a little scared too. Iβve got two dogs, the mommy dog stays inside the house because she understands things so well πΆπ and her baby stays outside in a cage. My 4-year-old son loves playing with them, and this reminds me to always keep a close eye just to be safe. π I hope your niece feels better soon! π
Prevention is always better than cure. Being infected with rabies is deadly. It's right that you immediately seek medical attention and got the anti-rabies shot right away. She's such a brave girl. Praying for her speedy recovery. I hope she won't get traumatized to dogs after this. Dogs are lovely and not harmful when well taken care off. I have 6 dogs at home and I make sure that they got their vaccines on time as part of responsible fur parenting.
She did well. You made the right decision. Rabies is a serious concern. There was a recent report about a man bitten by a dog last year and died just this month. He happened to be a vlogger and requested his wife to made public the video of him suffering from rabies virus to serve as a warning to everyone.
My son was bitten by our dog last year and I brought him immediately to Rabvaxx. It was really a serious concern because he was bitten on his face and mouth. I thanked God he completed the injection. Rabvaxx only gave him a booster dose since he got a complete dose of anti-rabies vaccine when he was bitten by our cat in the same year.
Make sure your niece completes the dose.
