Hello everyone.
Today, I went to the bank in the morning to deposit money for paying our monthly bills. There were many people waiting their numbers to be called, but since there were only two tellers, the waiting was as slow as the sloth because they always prioritize PWD ( Person with Disability) and it includes senior citizens and pregnant women. There are clients who came in to make an appointment for U.S Visa and at the US Embassy Interviews and they are included in a number with letter P alphabet which means, it’s the teller assigned in PWD that assists them. That’s why it was so slow. I’ve been wondering why they don’t hire more employees to avoid a long wait. I always wait for four hours every time I pay there of my monthly bills. It always happen in every bank here. There are also clients who pay their taxes, who cash out money from the teller and not from ATM because it’s a big amount, those who deposit for car loan and those who get their monthly wages from online jobs.
So, the bank uses a tap machine to get a number. Technology is greatly innovated in businesses. Before, the entrance guard gave the clients the printed numbers in a paper. Today, if a client isn’t techy, she needs to ask a help from bank employees or the guards. In a tap machine, we choose whether we withdraw money and deposit. If we choose the letter P, our number is called shortly, not waiting for many hours because it is supposedly for PWD. There was a time when I didn’t have a choice but chose it because my baby was with me. I was pretending I was pregnant and it was hard for me to lie, so, the teller seems not convinced I was pregnant but what would she do, I had that number already and she saw my fussing baby.
I already got the number, but omg, I carelessly withdrew a little money from other bank. I thought it was 17, 000 pesos, but I found out that it was just 1,700. I thought it was the exact amount because when I withdrew from the ATM, I immediately put it in my wallet without counting first. Even if I got the waiting list number from the guard, I went bank to this different bank to withdraw again. I knew that my number wouldn’t be called even for two hours because that is how slow their service is. Good thing that the clients can sit down comfortably with soft seats and cold temperature.
After I withdrew money, I went to the neighbor bakery cafe of the bank because I was hungry. I felt so weak as I was walking like I almost fainted. I was scared if it would happen and I brought a big money on my wallet. So, I relaxed in a bakery and paid bagels as my lunch. I ordered cheese bread for only 35 pesos and mineral water for 25 pesos. Their cheese bread provides unique taste, unlike the other cheese bread of bakeries here.
The bakery cafe has five types of coffees such as Americano, White Latte, Spanish Latte, flavored latte and signature mocha. They also have non coffee beverages like hot chocolate, hot tea and hot matcha. Their ice-blended beverages are dark muchat,Java chips, caramel macchiato and a noncoffee based chocolate hazelnut, marshmallow s’mores and matcha green tea. They also serve smoothies, milkshakes, brewed ices tea, pasta, sandwiches, meals for breakfast, main course such as Jen’s classic, buttered milk fish, Hungarian and Bagnet. Their healthy recipes in a bowl are Korean based foods like Korean a pork Bibimbowl, Pacific Hawaiian and Jimmy’s Chicken Ranch. They also have salads such as Tuna Caesar and Chicken Garden. They have ricebowls of chicken, pork, beef and fish. Aside from those foods mentioned, we can also request a wine.
They also have plenty of whole wheat bread with raisins for only 84 pesos, American in medium size for 52 pesos and wheat bread classic for 62 pesos. Honestly, their whole wheat is Butuanon’s favorite. Our friends just stop in this bakery cafe just to get the whole wheat. It was only my lunch without rice and I was very satisfied. Then, my energy went back. I was craving for a flavored latte, but I felt like I was shaking a little.
I never knew that my family was outside waiting for me in the car. Just when they arrived and my number was called luckily when I also went back to the bank. My family was hungry, so we went to Ampayon to buy viand at the eateries or turn-turo in Tagalog. The eateries are open from 8 am to 11 pm. They display a Special Pansit, Beef Pares Overload, Beef Pares and Siomai Rice. They also have an Unlimited Rice with drinks.
At the neighbor eatery, they have beef Mami, Stewed Pork and Fish Soup. We bought two serves of Stewed Pork and Sautéed Squash. We also bought a jackfruit cooked with coconut milk that tastes like heaven. At home, I just ate the jackfruit and Squash. Eating oily foods like pork is traumatizing for me since I had a gallstone and had my gallbladder removed. I even had a fatty liver, but thanks God that I’m okay these times. The doctor said that I can eat different foods again and can eat oily foods since it is more safer that I don’t have a gallbladder as the food directly jumps into my intestines. However, since I am traumatized, I now switch into a healthy diet because I’m a mother and I wanna be healthy. When I was at the hospital, the nurse said that the reason why a person gets sick is because of what they eat. Mostly, that’s their patient’s cases that is why she eats veggies and salads than meats.
The eatery’s serving is indeed overload, plus the cheap price than in a restaurant. Cleanliness is okay, but I think it’s cleaner at the restaurant because the foods there are not ready made. They serve their hot and fresh foods without exposing it outside.
The eatery has many customers. They also like the taste of the foods. They seem to enjoy it while eating at the sidewalk. It’s common in the Philippines to see eateries side-by-side. Eateries are the places I love to dine with, yet, I’m also observant when it comes to cleanliness of their space and of course, their foods.
My sister-in-law is queuing because like I said, they have a lot of customers. People from different places visit here. Some of them are from the mountains, truck drivers, local employees and residents of the place. During classes, the eatery is busier. Students can afford their prices, plus the tasty Filipino recipes even just typical here. I love eateries because they serve pure Filipino foods with soups. I don’t like dry foods. How about you, do you love buying viands from the eateries? Are you more into dry foods or soupy?
