She Chased Me Everywhere, Now I'm Chasing Memories Of Our Persian Sweet Poppy

Hello Asean Hivers fam! Just wanna share our Persian princess. She is Poppy, our fluffy cat. With her expressive eyes and neat appearance, she's already taken our hearts. I was scrolling on my phone, taking a quiet remembrance, looking at old photos from my time in the Philippines. Then suddenly, Poppy's album popped up and just like that, I smiled. I couldn't help but miss her and all the quirky, unique positions she used to strike. like she owned every corner of the house.

Back when we were in Cebu for a vacation, my son mentioned that one of his friends had a Persian cat up for sale. I wasn’t exactly thrilled, I mean, I had never thought of myself as someone who’d have a cat at home. But curiosity got the best of us. We went to see the kitten, and just like that, my son decided to bring her home. That was the first day Poppy came into our lives.

At first, I didn’t know how to deal with her. She was fluffy, quiet-looking but oh, I was wrong about the quiet part. Poppy turned out to be a little rocket. Every time I stepped out of my room, she’d come dashing at full speed, like she was racing me. And just when I thought she’d crash into me, she’d stop five inches away, drop to the floor, and start rolling like she was part of a gymnastics team. It made me laugh, even when I pretended to be annoyed. This is Poppy's DIY hideout was made by my son from a cardboard box. She absolutely adored it, this was her royal chamber. I bought her a ribbon, just a simple one. When my son tied it around her neck, she didn't fuss at all. she actually seemed to like it. No running around, no tricks, just Poppy being her elegant self, looking like a lady who knew she was loved and pampered.

When I came here in Dubai two years ago, Poppy was just a few months old, a tiny fluffy kitten still discovering the world. I went back home for a vacation last year and I was amazed to see how she had grown. I couldn't resist capturing her. I took some shots while I was home. Every shot tells a little story of her gentle presence.

As clingy as ever, Poppy always made sure to be close to my son. Every time he took his break from his computer, she jumped right into his chair. Sometimes, she hopped up on the table or curled up under the monitor and fell asleep.

Before I returned to Dubai, I made sure to take a few more photos of Poppy to hold on to those moments I was home. The last photo was taken on the day I was leaving. My son had taken a nap before bringing me to the airport. And right beside him, as if she knew it was a quiet, meaningful moment. I wanted to cuddle Poppy since she was small, but I couldn't risk triggering my asthma, that's why I just took photos of her and kept the image close to my heart.Now I find myself chasing those memories of our Persian princess. Even from afar, she remains a part of our story, curled up in the corners of our hearts like she used to do in our home.
