Avocado is one of my favorite fruits. Not only because it is delicious and healthy, but also because it Helps me in many simple ways here in our farm. Sometimes, small things like avocado can create a good balance between helping other and helping our own family too.
Here in the province, I sometimes buy avocado from our neighbors in the mountain where my parents live. This is my small way of helping them earn from their hard work, instead of letting their avocado go to waste or be sold very cheaply. I buy them directly, in return I can also earn a little by reselling them, and at the same time, my merienda is already free. It feels good because it’s a win-win situation for everyone.

Avocado is very sellable in our area, many people love avocado, whether it’s eaten plain, mixed milk, or added to melas. Because of this, its easy to sell once it is already ripe. Sometimes, I buy avocados that are still unripe. I just place the, inside a carton box, and after two days, they are already ripe and ready to sell. Once ripe. The price is higher compared to unripe ones, so there is already added value just by waiting patiently.

Aside from being sellable, avocado has many health benefits. It is rich in healthy fats that are good for the heart. It also helps with digestion because it has fiber. Avocado gives energy and helps you feel full longer. As per our best friend Google. That’s why it’s perfect for a simple far, merienda, very healthy and natural.

What I love about this avocado is that I earn a little income and I get support our neighbors and enjoy good food. Living in the farm taught me of real life we need to have sideline even simple and small business only. We can help our family in simple ways. We don’t need to buy merienda in the store. For me, avocado fruit is more that just fruit it represents simple blessing that come from the land and hard work.
