We've arrived at significant time of year again, a time of joy, serenity, and good news. We must remember why we're celebrating Christmas in the first place this holiday season. We need to remember during December that our Lord came into the world to save us from our sins and to redeem us from the world's wickedness.
Good day, #Hivers! The majority of people have their Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve or Christmas night; however, Filipinos often wake up at midnight to celebrate Noche Buena, a rich feast of traditional Filipino Christmas delicacies such as lechon, seafood, queso de bola, ham, pasta, fruit salad, and the like (depending on the request of a family member).
This is the second Christmas that my mother and I have celebrated in the wake of my youngest sonβs passing. The absence is still deeply felt during this holiday season. My oldest daughter, along with her family and my aunt, resides elsewhere, adding to the sense of distance and loneliness. In light of this, my mother wisely suggested that we prepare only a modest amount of food to avoid any waste(Macaroni Fruit Salad and Hawaiian Carrot spaghetti). Most of our neighbors are away on holiday, spending time with their relatives, which leaves us without anyone to share our preparations with, should we have any leftovers. The thought of cooking a large feast feels unnecessary when the atmosphere is so quiet and still.
I got the sweetest surprise! My incredibly generous CEO has sent a mouthwatering cake, a delightful gesture that took me completely by surprise. Just the other day, he also treated me to some delicious food, so this unexpected gift feels particularly thoughtful. I can't help but think that my boss has a playful intention to fatten me up! Ironically, though, I've been losing weight recently due to the late nights I've been pulling, trying to meet deadlines for our magazine's special holiday issues for Christmas and New Year. The rush of work keeps me busy, but I truly appreciate the sweet surprises amidst the hectic schedule! I love it, Boss! I really appreciate it.π· This is an addition to our simple preparation.π
Thank you again for fetching around my blog and allowing me to share with you my unwavering thoughts and unblinking moments. πΉποΈ Thank you, #HivePh, #ASEANHiveCommunity, @justinparke, and family, for the unwavering support and understanding of my long silence.π·β€οΈ

Happy Christmas po sa Inyo ate Joyce!
Merry Christmas! This is the time of the year to celebrate together with our loved ones. One of my favorite food when Christmas comes is the Macaroni salad and we always cook macaroni salad during this time of the year.
