It was a great feeling for anyone who would go to a new place. A place where he never set foot before. One thing I know in my heart when I will be traveling, a great current of excitement is swirling inside my heart. Who wouldn't love to travel? Who wouldn't love to create new, happy, and memorable experiences with friends and family? We are all excited.
Last four years ago, before the great pandemic ruled out the world. My friends planned to visit a resort in Maragondon, Cavite. It was quite far from our place, but it didn't stop us from going. We were all excited with the purest of joy. We set everything and it will be followed accordingly.
My preparation for our outing was easy because all of my needs are at home. I made sure that everything I need, and I will need was in my bag. How funny I was because I even watched videos on YouTube about how to pack properly so that it would all fit in my two bags. Yes, I had two bags because our outing will last for 2 days and 3 nights.
Here are the list of I brought:
How unlucky I was when I found out that the money in my pocket was gone. Like, the only money left was around $10 and it will not be sufficient for the whole trip. I thought my wallet still contained at least around $25-30. The whole excitement on my face was gone. I have to be there and enjoy the outing so I immediately called the head of our group.
He was so supportive and caring because he told me that he would cater everything. For some reason, I was shy yet I know what friends do right? Always to support your back and help you in times of need. In that moment, my excitement regained like it was supercharged from a great source.
My friends will be coming from Kawit, Imus and Bacoor. And they will be heading in our area, and Tanza will be the last one they will pass by. I just waited for them and we were always exchanging messages to ensure that their bus would not leave me hung in our street. I stood and sat over and over again. In fact, my patience was shortening bit by bit. I was about to sit when my friend called me on the phone.
He told me that they were already near and I had to be prepared to hop in fast. They told the bus driver to stop to get me in. I was surprised when there were so many and we filled almost ½ of the bus at the back. We took some photos since we were already complete. It was a long ride, but it was worth it. I enjoyed listening to music while my view was of a farm field and old houses.
After the bus, we have to walk for several minutes because we will get some food from the sister of our friend. He asked his sister to cook some dishes for our viands for the whole day. It was a long walk and I felt the pain in my shoulder and leg because of my heavy bags. As I mentioned I had two bags. We got the food and used a boat to reach the other side of the river.
We walked again for 30 minutes I guess before we finally saw the sign that we were near the resort. Oh yes, my legs are shaking but my eyes were feasting on the view of their garden. They had beautiful and rare flowers that we did not have at home. Just being your normal, totally normal gardener.
We rented a whole house at the side of the resort because we were too many. Renting the house was the best choice and it was air-conditioned with at least 30 beds. We were 15 in total and some would come late so we became 19 in total the next day. We were all boys so it was okay if we didn't use any divider. The house has two comfort rooms which is great.
We swam. We cooked. We played different games like UNO cards, scrabble, Pinoy Henyo, dived a coin, and guessed what's in the box. But among the activities we had for the entire time frame, heart to heart talk became the highlight for me. I was shocked by some of their stories about family, career, love life and school. I would say I learned many things from my friends most especially those higher in my age.
How I wish it would happen again because the memories and experiences I would get can't be exchanged for anything in this world. We know how valuable our memories are. I would love to travel again and be with my friends on this kind of journey because they are special.

These kinds of overnight session are the one's that I missed out when I was young. Nung medyo nag ka edad na ako nagkaroon ng chance to camp out with friends. Truly an amazing experience.
Badtrip yung nawala yung pera, kakainis yun buti you have such great friends to cover up in the meantime.
Hopefully we will all have the time to meet physically since Cavite lang naman pero who knows once everything is all good I will have it sched for Southies to set such event.
