The Neighborhood’s Beloved Dog, Browny: From Stray Dog to Pet Dog Story

Good day dear awesome Hive friends! Hope your day has been going well! Today, I would like to tell you about our neighborhood stray dog that became one of the resident’s pet. Her name is Browny; I and my partner fondly call him, Joro (combination of our names).

I’ve been living in this community for about 10 years, but it’s only about 2 years ago that I became familiar with this dog. It started when I went down from the building, and I saw her playing with my partner. It was also my partner’s first time interacting with Browny. He said the dog just came to him and just kept wagging its tail with smiley eyes.

In the days to come, my partner would often encounter her outside especially when he was delivering some orders to our neighbors. By the way, we sell some snacks and sweets within the community, but we just post it in our community page. Moving on, we were so amused with Browny because when she saw my partner delivering some items, she would go with him and patiently waited by the customer's door, then she would accompany my partner back to our unit. How I wish I was able to capture those moments when she used to accompany my partner to other buildings. There were times when surprisingly she would just run after him out of nowhere and approached him excitedly.

Browny is well-loved among the neighbors who also like feeding stray dogs. What sets him apart from the other stray dogs is that, she is very friendly and it seems that she is not after the food but she looks for more petting and playing time. When we fed her, she was not in a hurry to eat the food, in fact, she wouldn’t eat if you just went away after putting the food. When she was eating and I patted her, she would stop eating and enjoyed being given attention first. These are just some of the qualities that make her closer to us.

We also observed that other neighbors were fond of her. When they arrived, Browny would come to them and they would feed her too, and even brought her some food. That’s the time when we realized that she was loved by other residents; she was not skinny because we realized she was fed well, too. We were also a little confused because she had a collar. Later on, we found out the reason why.

Many times, she would come up to our unit and waited outside if the door was closed. Suddenly, we could hear gentle barking, as if to inform us that she was waiting outside. We then opened the door and played with her, or let her come in if she wanted to. These routines continued for the last two years until recently.

We learned through the community post that a resident was planning to adopt her. This resident was the one who put her collar and fed her constantly also for the last 5 years. In her post, she mentioned that she had her own pet, but she also fed Browny daily. That time, her pet recently passed away so she thought of adopting Browny. That explained why Browny had a collar and wasn’t skinny at all.

We were busy doing something and she arrived; we were so excited to see her. She already looked cleaner and her fur was shiny and soft to touch. We were really glad that someone finally adopted her and she could have a safe space to live.

One time, I sent a message to Browny's furmom and asked for an update. She said that Browny has been sleeping in their unit every night as well as another stray dog that they were planning to adopt also. I was happy to hear some updates about Browny and her friend. They were together in one home, finally.

Now, we miss Browny’s surprise visit to us or the times when she would wait outside and gave a signal bark indicating that she was waiting outside. On the other hand, we are also grateful to the neighbor who has gentle heart to adopt Browny. I also miss seeing her running and playing outside with her friend. Every time I look outside now, I remember her because that was her territory and favorite area.

I wanted to include this special dog so that someday when I will be looking at my old blogs, I would be delighted to see her as part of my Hive diary-blog. Thank you very much for giving this some time. Heartfelt thanks to @asean.hive for this awesome community. Until then!

The color reminds me of Tiger! The stray dog that life ended in a brutal way.

Browny was fortunate as he is well love!

Hello... That is so sad to know about Tiger; but I haven't encountered his story yet. Yes, Browny is lucky; now she is safe and healthier. Thank you so much for your message and for visiting this blog.

It is really fun to adopt this beautiful animal, which is really extraordinary. It is really fun to spend your lonely time with this special animal running around and various pleasures including food. It is also a great skill to marry the animal during the happy loneliness and the animal's barking signals. Thank you very much for sharing these wonderful animals and beautiful messages.

That gentle barking sound or call of an animal gives a truly joyful feeling.

Long live Browny and his family, he is a beautiful dog. Nice story, my wife and I also recently gave a home to a kitten in our neighborhood. It is one of the most beautiful experiences.

Hello... Browny is sweet and I liked how she made eye contact during our interaction. It would have been nice if we could give her a home, but we have a small space. I agree, we also give them hope when we provide a roof for them. Many many thanks for your visit and for your lovely message.

Upon looking at the photos and reading your story, I went teary-eyed. Your dog resembles mine. We call him Bro, and he was with us for 3 years. He got lost 2 years ago amid the New Year of 2023. T'was the saddest New Year for us. 🤧 Take good care of Browny❣️

Hello... I'm glad to read your message. The blog made you remember Bro. How sad that he disappeared that time. Perhaps due to the loud sounds of fireworks; he got scared and ran away. I wonder why he didn't come back anymore. Maybe he was taken by others but hopefully he can still come back someday. Yes, we are planning to visit Browny. Thank you so much for your time and for sending this message. 😊😍

We have a dog too and its makes us happy. Its really a mans bestfriend. I love cuddling our dog and cats too. 😍

Hello... Yes, they are also stress-reliever. Playing with them makes us forget our worries temporarily. We observed that Browny seemed to refuse being cuddled, perhaps she wasn't used to it being a stray dog. But she wanted to be rubbed on the belly, head and ears heheh... Thank you so much for your visit and your message.💖😊

Maybe still adjusting. Slowly Browny will adopt it too. Your welcome and thank you too for supporting my blog.😍
