May 14th, 2025Well, folks, life has been hectic since I arrived in the USA with my Cambodian wife and daughters. The person we were most concerned about seeing during our nearly 7-year long visa fight with the US government was my stepfather, the person who co-sponsored my family's visas and also is in poor health due to a few heart attacks, heart surgeries, diabetes, weight issues, high blood pressure, etc. Within hours of our arrival he suffered a heart attack but didn't feel any chest pains, then two days later he collapsed getting out of bed.
It was all very surreal to see my greatest fears coming true, that the US government would play games with me so long that upon our arrival my stepfather's health would be too poor to spend quality time with my kids and wife. It is just another unfortunate circumstance that the US government is largely responsible for, but I can only be mad and continue not voting for any of the suits that run this country.
Enough rambling, I'm doing my best to catch up and continue ASEAN Hive's forward progress, and while scrolling the delegations I noticed a fresh 100 HP from @dewabrata, who is now a full-fledged SILVER member. Other than that there were no new delegations to mention, just a whole lot of busy days and daily trips to a distant hospital from where I currently live in the US Indiana countryside. I am already missing Cambodia, hard to believe it may be a year before we get our green cards and can return to the place where can actually afford things and enjoy freetime. How The VIP Delegator Raffle Works
Every raffle I tally the total HP delegated to the @asean.hive curation account, and one raffle ticket is allocated for each HP delegated by you ASEAN Hivers (excluding [me] @justinparke, @srey-yuu, @sakana & @sreypov), with a minimum delegation of 50 HP to be eligible for the ASEAN Hive VIP 🥉 BRONZE Raffle.
There are five separate raffles, one for each VIP tier, and each tier's prize is a post beneficiary status equivalent to the tier's total percentage of raffle tickets allocated. This means the percentages of each tier's share of the prize is fluid, and I think it makes the raffle more fun and fairer.
This week's total effective HP is 193,092, and total delegated HP is 178,657 HP (137,652 HP minus ASEAN team member delegations & delegations under 50 HP), so I plugged the numbers into my Raffle Picker iOS app, selected "pick winners," and the results were instantly and randomly calculated.

I'm so incredibly sorry to hear about your stepfather's health crisis, especially after such a long and stressful visa process. I can only imagine how frustrating and heartbreaking this must be for you and your family. Sending you all strength and hoping for better days ahead.

I am lost for words upon reading your post about your stepfather's health. I am immensely sorry. Let's continue to pray that he will soon be back in the pink of health. Prayers can move mountains. Let the hand of God through Jesus cure your stepfather from all his sickness. My heart goes out to you and your family. I know how hard it is to have someone in the family who isn't well. I've gone through it with my son for two decades. Simply keep the faith, @justinparke, and everything will be fine. My prayers go out to you and your family.
