Greetings Hivers, @justinparke here with a brand new ASEAN Hive Community Challenge for you all, 🕌 Local Temple Tours 🛕.
This week marks another new challenge, and apologies for posting this a little later than usual, there have been power cuts combined with a massive amount of entries to read through for last week's challenge. I have some exciting news to share, @Ecency has joined as a sponsor of our weekly challenges thanks to the lovely @melinda010100, who reached out to me with an offer of`1,000 Ecency points per month. With roughly 4 challenges a month, I've set aside 250 points for each challenge in addition to the usual post beneficiary rewards.
This week's challenge is about local or nearby temples. Whether it be a church, mosque, pagoda, monastery, or shrine, I would love to see tours of temples near you ASEAN Hivers' homes. It doesn't have to be a big, well-known, or touristy place, but I rather prefer the place frequented by locals in your village/neighborhood.
You don't have to be religious to join this challenge, but if you are and want to tell us why your local temple is important to you, that is of course welcome too. Southeast Asia is home to many cultures and religions, so I am excited to see a wide range of temples from you all. If you know details like the date the temple was built or any other historical info, that would be a nice addition to the post.
Wow!!! I am at a loss for words about this challenge, there were so many entries, and I found it almost impossible to choose only three winners. The winners I did select of course all had outstanding posts, but I took the time to read and comment on every single one of your entries, and oops, I fell asleep at my desk in the process. We even had a karaoke submission from @godslove123, what a pleasant surprise that was, and @tegoshei's writing style really grabbed my attention and pulled me into her post. @ayane-chan, a relatively new poster in our community, also had an outstanding entry, and it's clear she has a knack for writing too.
Delegators are valued members of our community, so each @asean.hive curation post (other than the main weekly delegator raffle post) features a mini delegator raffle in the footer, with the winner receiving 15% post beneficiary.
Wow.. @ecency is so kind to be contributing to the challenge.. woo hoo.. makes this challenge even more fun to join.. =) Hi hi @justinparke
I think the Ecency points are a nice bonus to the challenge, very generous on their behalf.
Yea.. it makes contest quite attractive.. it has been attractive but it is even more beautiful... Ahhaha just wanted to joke around.. 🐱🐱🐱
Wow.. this is really good news and very good for the ASEAN Hive Community, we are all very happy of course with this additional support. Thank you very much to miss @melinda010100 and also @ecency, please accept my warm greetings to you both 🙏
And congratulations to my friends who were chosen as the winners of ASEAN Hive Challenge Week #18, the posts of the three of you in participating in this challenge are really great 👍
You're a positive presence in this community, and your engagement is exemplary my friend.
the challenge for the 18th week was quite exciting for all participants to participate in,, the challenge for this time was about the temple,,
I listened in detail to what you wrote in this post,, apparently you understand quite well,, and are wise enough,,, if we talk about temples, our participants from Aceh don't have temples, but you quite understand the situation, you explain there not only temples, for example churches may be mosques as well,, as well as a pagoda,, I quite understand what you wrote,, this is the kind of leader who can understand the situation as well as the participants who join the ASEAN community,,
so many tribes joined here as well as language so many languages from all of us who joined the ASEAN community,,
but you can understand it all ... maybe this time I just believe,, if you my friend @justinparke have a sixth sense ... hehehe ... is that true ....???
only you can answer it....because you once told a story,,,if you have a sixth sense..we leave that problem..
because you have explained in this post,, it's not only temples that we can participate in for this contest, it can also be churches as well as mosques and pagodas..
what is clear in my place only has a mosque,, because we must be of different religions and different ethnicities,, because I am from Islam I will share about mosques for this challenge,,
for this time I'm really curious about you @justinparke because you are able to understand all situations and can predict the tribes or religions that consist of us who join the #asean.hive community
and we get full support from #ecency it is a great honor for all of us because we have been supported by him, thank you very much to #ecency who has supported us,,
Thank you, I try to be mindful of all cultures, and also the language barriers too. Temple is a very vague word, and here in Cambodia the Buddhist people called mosques "Islam Temples" and churches "Christ Temples" because that is the only word they have in their language. I feel like temple is a good word for people not familiar with terms like mosque, church, pagoda, synagogue, shrine, monastery, etc.
The second largest ethnic group in Cambodia is traditionally Islamic, the Cham people, but they are not well-known because the tourism sector is focused the ancient Hindu-Buddhist temples here. The Cham people even once had their own Kingdom here centuries ago, and I think there are ruins of ancient mosques in some places.
So glad to have Ecency onboard, the more the merrier.
Congrats everyone and thank you for sharing the music you listen to.
Thank you @justineparke for this challenges.
And here is my entry for this Community Challenge.

Thanks and I wish you all are safe ❤️
My pleasure, and very nice to see you join this, gonna have a read tonight, thanks.
Thanks again, I think I'll be joining every challenge you have 😁
Ohh... Thank you very much!!! It was fun... I'll try to join this week, too... Is it okay to use old pictures? I rarely go out, but I do have some pictures I took in the past in my phone gallery. :)
Sorry for such a late response to your query. Old pictures are fine, and that reminds me of a post I read the other day discussing this very issue. A Hiver got in trouble for using old photos from a previous post, but not because of the photos, because of the posting style. The Hiver made a post too similar to an old one, and didn't add any new images, drawing the attention of HiveWatchers. Especially if the images were never part of a previous post, that's also no problem at all.
It's okay... I was kinda busy this weekend and today, so I could post... I also missed the deadline.. 😭 I'll participate next time. Have a great one!!!!
Thanks, @justinparke. I never expect that a newbie like me would get a 3rd place. I will definitely join the next contest.
My pleasure, I really love your writing style, hope to see more content from you here.
Great to see you again with this contest I am unfortunately not in the Asian part of Mother Earth so this one is not for me
Well, I know you've got a lot of Indonesian culture and immigration there, and a lot of good Indonesian restaurants too, so that's example of a post you could publish in ASEAN Hive. As long as there's a SE Asian link, and that makes me think I've seen a Thai temple somewhere in Amsterdam before 🤔. Even if you cooked a SE Asian inspired dish at home, that would work too, any kind of SE Asian connection works for me.
Ok that changes the blog option I will keep it in mind and do a blog ! Greetz to the three princesses

Good to see this contest for this week. Yes, I'll definitely join and this will be my first time.
Looking forward to it, and there's always next week if you don't find the time.
I had joined already. I think it was two days ago that I published my entry to it. Anyways, thank you so much for this week's challenge.
Congratulations to the winners, Honestly who won number three, we both love the Music.
I learned a lot from this challenge, loads of new music and artists I'd previously never heard of.
The sponsorship of ecency points will attract more entries. A good development.
I think so too, it was some very welcome news.
Happy Sunday 😀

Congrats to all the winners.
🙏👊
Here's my entry: https://ecency.com/hive-141359/@lheeshan06/mosques-near-where-we-live
Good to see some variety, a mosque in the Philippines. I used to live a town here in Cambodian with a large Muslim population. Most people think of Cambodia as a Buddhist country, but there is a very large ethnic Cham minority who are Muslim and have been here for many centuries.
I also thought the same when heard about Cambodia. Good to know that there are also lots of Muslims there.
