Greetings ASEAN Hivers, @justinparke here with a new challenge about small things with big stories, so find something special to share with us all.

💍 Small Things, Big Stories 🕵️‍♀️

👨‍💻 Week #175 👩‍💻

October 6th ➡️ October 13th, 2025

Sometimes the smallest items have the biggest stories, and that's what this week's challenge is all about. New or old, both are fine, or perhaps even items no longer with you that you may have some old pictures of will work for this challenge. Old jewelry, kitchen tools, a knife, family heirlooms or even something that has been with you through some remarkable times, just be sure you can remember a story to tell.

I have a pocketknife my grandfather gave me and a shirt that somehow has survived since highschool to still be with me, both with good stories, but I never have time to post these days, let alone keep up with my self-imposed ASEAN Hive duties. Anyhow, show me your small items with big stories, and I look forward to reading your entries folks.

Week #174 ASEAN Hive Challenge Winners
🧏 Sounds Of Home 🏡

Pets, farm animals, spoons hitting mugs, fans, familiar voices, there were so many beautiful ways you all described the sounds of your home. We take these things for granted for better of for worse, but when we are far from home we often miss those familiar sounds. We have no ceiling in Cambodia, and I miss the loud sound from the rain that makes conversation impossible but also silences all the voices in my head 😄. Anyhow, please consider these 4 outstanding posts and support anything of interest.

(EXCERPT) It's been a while that I posted here in our community simply because I take good care of hubby who is bedridden since April and so busy with the never ending housechores. How are you all? Hope, all is good in your homefront or in the environment where you are.Since we transfered here in our new abode in the year 2020 Month of November, the sounds we hear is much different from the other City that we came from.

ASEAN Hive Community Challenge #174 Sounds Of Home
by: @usagigallardo015
(EXCERPT) And every sound in our house is a weird thing. If I was a teenager I could just actually tell that the sound of our home is the voice of my mom and grandmother when they are yelling at me. But it's the opposite for now. Aside from my voice, there are a lot of sounds that we missed inside our house. And at the top of it is the sounds of flooding when we're walking in it.

Challenge # 174:Sounds of Home: The Soundtrack Every Morning
by: @lolitaanana001
(EXCERPT) Every morning when I woke up, what I often heard was the clink, clink of a spoon against a bowl or a cup. I used to wake up late in the morning most especially when its Saturday or Sunday. Aside from the loud snore I've heard from my brother's deep sleep that caused me to wake up,this clinking sound of a spoon against the cup was also a bit irritated my ear and forced me to watch over who's clinking the spoon.

The Soundtrack of My Home:🧏 Sounds Of Home 🏡 👨‍💻 Week #174 👩‍💻
by: @celestyne15
(EXCERPT) Living in Asia is both incredibly chaotic and beautifully loving. These sounds either annoyed me, drove me mad, or gave a catch to my heart. They remain part of my daily life. My father's roosters and chickens wake me up every day. He has had a lot of roosters before, during his 40s and 50s.

Thank you so much, @asean.hive! I still can't believe I was chosen as one of the winners, especially since I had difficulty getting out and walking properly to take photos after my accident. I truly appreciate this recognition!

Congratulations as well to all the other winners! To the next challenge!👏
