Greetings ASEAN Hivers, this week's challenge is all about anything you can buy along the sidewalk or roadside, so let's see what you all can find.
Southeast Asia is a place where buying things along roads and sidewalks is very easy. Here in Cambodia you could easily furnish a house, build your wardrobe, and obtain everything you need to eat and drink, all while sitting on the comfort of your front porch. For this challenge I want to see what you can buy along the roadside, whether it be a simple sugarcane juice or even a new mattress for your bed.
Sidecars, tuk-tuks, bicycles, small cars and trucks, tractors, and many other kinds of transportation are home to mobile vendors, and of course there small shacks, kiosks, and other pop-up businesses along the roads and sidewalks. Every morning I buy a baguette from a motorcycle and often some leafy greens too. This challenge will highlight how each part of Southeast Asia has different taste and style.
This challenge proved to be hit, but of course how are noodles not going to be a hit in Southeast Asia? I didn't expect artwork though, and combined with the awesome GIF, the first prize post is definitely worth a look. But of course all entries are worth your time, some provide you with a recipe and others are just snapshots from the kitchen. I am certainly left with some noodly inspiration after reading and viewing all the entries.
I told her to join not only because cooking is her forte, but also I'm excited to eat whatever pasta or noodle dish she makes or experiment on. hahah Yes, I had an ulterior motive and I don't regret it! Anyway, since I don't normally cook, the fact that the challenge doesn't limit us to the actual made me happy. There's something that I've been wanting to try these days especially after watching an anime called Mononoke.
When I saw the topic "NOODLE NIRVANA", I got interested because I also cook pasta dishes most of the time because any kinds of pasta dishes are my daughter's favorite.
I always use pasta like spaghetti pasta and fettuccine. For noodles, we also cook it sometimes at home but not too often too because instant noodles are not a healthy food. So this time, I felt interested and got challenged to try to elevate or upgrade the simple instant noodles into a more delicious and healthier one.
Every once in a while I would crave for noodles. Whenever I watch those mukbang videos it makes my cravings increase to the highest level. I'm amazed at how they can eat those large quantities of noodles and a lot more food. Though my boss warned me against eating instant noodles, she said it is not good for the body and has a lot of preservatives, i still manage to eat it once in a while. Whenever she's not around or busy with other things.
Delegators are valued members of our community, so each @asean.hive curation post (other than the main weekly delegator raffle post) features a mini delegator raffle in the footer, with the winner receiving 15% post beneficiary.
