Greetings ASEAN Hivers, this week's challenge is all about local artisans, so show me woodcarvers, bakers, welders, potters, weavers and more.
Β Β Β This week I want you all to show me your local artisans, or yourself and your work if you happen to be an artisan of some kind. Artists and artisans are not exactly the same, similar though. Artisans tend to be good with precision, craftmanship, and manual skill, while artists are more focused on self-expression and imagination. So for this challenge a painter might not be a good example of artisan, but a basket weaver would be.
Β Β Β I hope that this makes the challenge clear. The rules are always flexible, so if you are an artisan, perhaps you can show us your work, your workspace, perhaps even a tutorial. If you know a local artisan you can show us their place and examples of their work, background, and any additional relevant information you find interesting. I look forward your entries and hope to see much participation....
Β Β Β The two winners of this challenge shared some impressive structures, and I felt as though I had been transported to Spain because these old-fashioned massive churches look strikingly similar. The Philippines has taken a lot of architectural influence from the Spanish colonial times, and it makes for impressive buildings. I am glad they didn't take on American architecture because our churches are rarely awe-inspiring pieces of architecture, but rather built as cheaply and big as possible. I encourage you all to visit both of these outstanding posts.
Checking the challenge today about the "Sacred Spaces"! It is a good timing that I visited one of the sacred place in my mother hometown and my great-grandmother sacred spaces too. We went Bohol to celebrate the 9th death Anniversary of my great-grandmother. At the same time I visited all my beloved ones in the cemetery like my grandmother and grandfather who were so dear to me. During the death ofy grandmother, I was there last 2020 but during the death of my grandfather, sad to say that I was inside the cage.
Whenever I hear the word "sacred", what immediately comes to mind is religion... or perhaps something related to gods and deities. Coming from a country where Catholicism is dominant, we consider our churches as sacred. Churches are considered as the house of God... a place to honor and worship Him. That, I agree... however, there are times when I find it hard to feel its sacredness. I mean, it's not because of the place, but the atmosphere surrounding it.
There were only two entries for this challenge, so I happily split the 3rd Prize rewards between our 1st and 2nd Prize winnrs.
Β Β Β Delegators are valued members of our community, so each @asean.hive curation post (other than the main weekly delegator raffle post) features a mini delegator raffle in the footer, with the winner receiving 15% post beneficiary.
Congratulations @cdaveboyles23 and @tegoshei . Also to lucky @kbv.animalwelf . I wish i have my dad skill as artisan . He was my roles model but it sad that he stop making artwork at his old ages.
Not many artisans in my tiny village, only a woodworker.
Very few users participated this time, which was good
@cdaveboyles23 and @tegoshei entries. Congratulations on your winning.
Thank you and congratulations @tegoshei
I was more than happy to split the 3rd prize with these two awesome members.
