This week's ASEAN Hive Community Challenge is about neighborhood shops, and it's likely that no matter where you are in Southeast Asia, a neighborhood shop is not far away.
Southeast Asia is all about convenience, and with more relaxed zoning laws than western countries, this part of the world has far more locally owned independent small businesses. Even the most remote small village will always have someone selling a few things like cold drinks or snacks For this challenge I want to see neighborhood and village shops, and it certainly doesn't have to be the shop closest to where you live, work or study.
Whether it be a modern walk-in store with a refrigerated section or just a simple village pop-up shop with some coconuts and phone cards, all are welcome and all are considered shops to me. Cobblers, key makers, fish fish mongers, motorcycle mechanics, and so many other types of small business owners often have neighborhood shops or stalls. In Southeast Asia, even an umbrella on a pole provides enough space to set up a shop for a day, so let's see all the neighborhood shops, stalls, and stores you ASEAN Hivers can find.
From floral envelopes to breath-powered tabletop hovercrafts and a paper quill butterfly, there was quite a show of talent for this challenge. There were two manly entries for this challenge, but the ladies dominated, and all of three of them Filipinas. I'm not corrupt, I swear, we just have a lot Pinay ASEAN Hivers, and they often participate in the weekly challenges. I highly recommend you check out these three winning posts and show some love if you feel compelled.
Making wacky novelty or exquisite artwork with paper Quilling or Filigree is a fun pastime. You can spend hundreds of hours carefully manipulating paper pieces to create intricate paper sculptures or mosaics, or you can roll up paper strips rapidly. The basic idea behind the activity is always the same—rolled paper shapes—but how you utilize it and what you create depends entirely on you, how much time you want to spend, and maybe how much patience you have. For more details on my genre of work, keep reading.
Hello everyone. It’s been a while I’ve not come back because of my busy days. As I was busy, I robbed a time to make my paper art and I was rushing to finish it today because of the time limit. Anyway, I am still happy I’d be able to participate. So here I am making an origami vintage envelope. I didn’t have a chance to go to the store to buy papers, but I’m using the envelopes I found at home. First, I made the 6 folds of envelope.
Having cool toys with different designs and colors is surely a wonderful experience for kids. But having a toy that you crafted yourself is much more precious, especially if you put a lot of effort into making it. What more is when you also craft it together with your siblings or maybe with friends or maybe your crush, lol? ╮(^▽^)╭. I think I already mentioned this on some of my blogs. You see, when I was just a 4-year-old kid, Mommy Merly made me enter kindergarten school.
Delegators are valued members of our community, so each @asean.hive curation post (other than the main weekly delegator raffle post) features a mini delegator raffle in the footer, with the winner receiving 15% post beneficiary.

Thanks for joining. I love the small shops because they have so much character and are usually family owned.
