Dear business owners, learn to track your sales effectively. I learnt this the hard way.
Starting a business isn't for the faint of heart, and record-keeping is another chore in itself. It gets so tiring trying to keep track of what goes in and out of your account.
Once you start making sales and you see those big figures in your account, well you'd think you've made it. Only a few would know that not all that money should be spent on just everything.... I had to learn that the hard way.

Would you believe that ever since I started this business, I've not been keeping track of my finances? I'd just calculate how much I used in production and then keep the balance elsewhere. I didn't know there was a particular way to calculate your cost of production. Not all items need to be added all the time. I don't buy gas every day, so I don't need to add that to my cost of production every day. The same thing goes for baking powder and other things that come in bulk. I'll make a separate post on that some other time, so you can calculate and keep track of your finances.
I only started to keep track of my sales this January, and I'm glad I decided to take record-keeping seriously.Niw I know what I did wrong and I can easily work towards getting it right.
I now know how much profit I make in a week. How much the demand has grown and also how fast my product sells.

Keeping track of your finances in general helps your business to grow and helps you stay on track. Start that journey today. No matter how small the amount you remove from your account, put it down in a book. Record every single thing you buy. Have a separate account for your capital and profit, and last but not least, have a daily savings plan.
