Sketch Practice: A Random Guy

I decided to practice sketching today... :) I initially just wanted to use a pencil. However, for some reason, I ended up using a gel pen... and then acrylic markers. hahaha It was a fail, though. I suppose sticking to the pencil sketch would have been better, but anyway, tell me what you think...





It looks awful... but, oh well... XD

I searched for references online and decided to use this. It doesn't look one bit like that. Let me show you what happened. XD

The pencil sketch looked decent, right? I could have just continued using different pencils for shadows and highlights, but laziness got the better of me, and I thought, 'I'll just use a gel pen and that's it.

Wrong move!!! XD

Shading with my gel pen was terrible. It would have been okay if I still had my drawing pens, so I could use a finer tip, but all I have left are a bunch of 0.5 gel pens.

I thought... should I redo it? But nah! It's practice, so I'm bound to make a lot of mistakes...

Then, I decided to try using an acrylic marker to cover them up... and guess what?? Hahah It smudged really badly.... The photo above is already a better version than it initially looked when I applied the marker. hahaha

So yeah... here's what I was able to salvage from the mistake. hahaha Though I can't really call it that. hahaha

I'll do better next time. :D
